ok, I have to stop whining now - they just sent me an offer finally. $5.41 for a non-exclusive btw since we were talking about that before. Not bad at all for what I expected!

Erika - You only have 3 articles up, so don't worry. The page views will come. It takes some time at first.

Rainbowmoon - No problem!

I've started using Yahoo Answers. I'll see if that helps my page views at all. It's kind of neat actually, so I hope it helps. It's also a great place to search for article ideas! I've got two ideas that I'm going to write up tonight.

Oops - it's bedtime for the boys. Gotta go.

It's been taking 3-4 business days for me to get an offer, on average. Yesterday was the first workday in awhile that I haven't had one

I am really working on improving my writing itself (as well as keywords). So, if anyone has any specific writing feedback (mechanics and that type of stuff) I'd appreciate it!

CASEY!!! Your article is featured, front page! WAY TO GO!!!

Once you get the hang of writing for the web (chosing good topics that attract viewers, keywording, etc.) you'll see a big increase in page views. It was taking me two months to get the $15 I needed to get my bonus until July, then I barely made it. It was only last month that I really started to take off with page views. I attribute it to picking good topics as well as promoting a lot. Use those social bookmarking sites, and post your articles in discussion groups, in blogs, on Yahoo answers, etc. You also only have a few articles up, which means less oppertunity to attract page views than for someone who has many more. As you get more articles up you'll get more page views. Some articles will be on fire; some will seem to flop. I've been with AC since January, so it's taken me 9 months to get to where I am...and my PVs don't even compare to the top performers on AC. I'm only a clout 8 right now, which seems high to a newcomer to AC but really isnt when you look at how many PVs you need to reach each clout level. It'll take you time, depending on how long it takes you to get the hang of web writing, how quickly you produce articles, and how much bookmarking you do. Just focus right now on learning to pick good topics with keywords and producing content, maybe some light promoting--then get into more heavy promoting when you have a bit of an archive of articles built up. And stay active on the site! Most of my comments are from other CPs.

And to answer the question, it has taken me up to about 2 weeks to receive offers. One week is nothing!

awesome cheese making article!

2 weeks! wow! I'd be basket case! haha! Guess I should write more and sit around waiting for offers less.

Congrats on the cheese article!!!

I had an article rejected for the first time...sniff, sniff! I knew it was bound to happen. And at least it was just rejected because they had too much similar in their database, not because it was a "bad" article or bad writing. I shouldn't complain...still a little bummed!
WFUTeach, my *first* article was rejected for the same reason and it has gotten me the most page views!! haha! Are you going to submit it for no payment anyway? I think it's worth it to build your "archive" as heather put it if you're not so attached to it that you'd feel ripped off.
Yeah I've had one or two rejected for that reason, and I'm usually shocked at first and then I just go...ehh I guess they are right.

If you ever disagree or don't understand a rejection, shoot them an email, and they'll clarify or even reconsider.
I opted to delete it, although maybe I will start from scratch and resubmit as PB only. I won't submit it elsewhere, and I was pleased with the article, even if they do have similar pieces in their database (it was about potty learning). DH also wondered if it had to do with keywording, since I rarely used the phrase "potty training".

On the upside, I am in the little box as a parenting active producer!

Great cheese article! Great to see it on the front page!

AC has been sending offers out pretty quickly for me. Everything I wrote over the weekend has gotten offers. I was hoping for more for my Lego article because I spent a lot of time researching it, but I think it will do well, so it doesn't matter I guess. I'm trying very hard to not care what the offer is because I am focused on building my number of articles up to 70. I've got 11 to go! And, I'm happy I'm getting more than $3.00 for most things now - lol. It makes me feel better to get just a 1.50 more than that - lol!

Once I've got 70 articles and 30,000 page views, I should be a clout 7. So, that's my goal right now. I should be there by the end of the month on both counts.

I agree with Heather that it takes awhile to build up enough articles to worry about promoting much. It is much easier to promote when you have a variety of articles on a variety of topics. Plus, just by the sake of having more articles, you will have more page views. If you are doing all right for keywording, then the page views will fall into place. Though, I'm still waiting for my one article that really knocks it out of the park - lol. But, I pull in a decent average regardless of that. I've got a couple of articles that consistently do well. Once I realize that something is a dud, I kind of drop it and don't pay much attention to it. I promote my good stuff. I think that has helped bring my average up.

Your dh may be right. Here is a link where you can use to check the frequency of keywords on the net.

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

You could write an article on why it should be called potty learning as opposed to potty training - lol. Then, you get both key words in there!

How is everyone?

I just got done catching up on like 12 articles. *Reading for everyone here*

Yk what I thought was neat? I got on google and typed in 'Amy Winehouse wants baby' and I'm the third thing that popped up!

I am still really enjoying AC. I am curious to see next week's PV counts...I think I've had a lot of traffic at a few articles, based on comments from people, so we'll see what happens. My article at SAHM burnout just published, and I am really pleased with it.

I am almost at my September goal of $100, which is pretty cool, too!!
Congrats Kelly! That's great!

I haven't been writing for AC lately but today I plan on writing at least 3 articles.

My problem though is finding topics that are not already saturated in the AC archives...

Hello everyone, I just signed up at AC and I'm just doing some browsing and learning about the features and such. I'd love to read some of your articles, so anyone is free to pm me their AC link. Any advice on getting started? Choosing subjects? I am going to make a list of some things I would like to write about to start with and just start picking off of the list. I would like to write one article a day. That is my goal! One more question, I would love to send my AC link to friends and family, but once they have that they will be able to see ALL of my articles, huh? There may be some stuff that I might not want certain people to read, is there any way around that? TIA!!!

Hello ladies!

Kelly (wfuteach) got me into AC. I had my first article (on researching your family tree inexpensively) published minutes ago and I got butterflies seeing my name up there.

I would be glad to swap links with anyone interested. Feel free to PM your links so I can add you.
