Trizzle - hope the massage helped! I've started getting random, painful hip problems too. Almost like one of them pops out, and hurts like h-e-doublehockeysticks for a while, until it goes back in. I'm waiting to schedule another massage until after allergies are gone - can't imagine lying face-down with my sinuses right now!

Snozzberry - congrats on your girl!! So exciting.

Yay for everyone feeling movement! Should get stronger over the coming weeks...

We had our 20-week app't yesterday. We declined the full-on ultrasound, and have also declined all testing. She did a very quick u/s to check placenta position, but was very respectful of our wishes and didn't look at the baby at all. We also listened to the heartbeat...it's so addictive & wonderful! Placenta is in the front, so dh won't be able to feel movement for a while. Heart rate in the 140s, my iron levels are fine. That's pretty much all we learned.

Can you believe how quickly time is going by? Next app't is 24 weeks, then 28, then 32 and we're down to every 2 weeks!

My boobs are leaking! It started two nights ago. I was like, "where are these water drops coming from?" It's only a drop or two at a time, but it's definitely happening. Now not only do I get to get nursing bras 20 weeks before my kid arrives, I also get the nursing pads, too! I can't decide if I'm excited about this, or annoyed, or both!

I guess it can happen at any point after 16 weeks, but it doesn't usually start this early for first time moms.

It's not constant, thankfully.

I feel weird about my kid this week, kind of disconnected. I feel like I've sort of plateaued in growth and the movement isn't increasing at all (if anything, it's decreasing so she must be cramming herself in some weird corner, or maybe I am growing and it's again harder to perceive her motion). I hate how impatient I am with this pregnancy! I feel like I'm always ready for the next thing weeks before it happens. I'm dying to get to know this baby and I feel like that isn't really happening when I can't feel him/her wiggle around. :

I had a bit of that boob moisture thing, too...(I'm sure that is the medically correct term, right? "boob moisture?") Seemed a bit early to me, too, but it does help me remember what these giant things are really here for (other than to turn my coworkers into rude, babbling idiots).
slgt-- going to try visiting an osteopath who specializes in preggy women, so I will let you know if she gives me any good tidbits on our angry hips and sciatica.
smokeylo- I am convinced we are ha! "normal" in having our connection to these babies wax and wane, especially at this stage of the game. Snozzberry said something enlightening to me about the challenge of not feeling in control of her body and its changes. I think that makes a lot of sense, especially for us first-timers. I go from feeling like a miracle to just feeling sortof hijacked, if that makes any sense. And its bizarre to pass a reflective surface and think some one else must be walking beside me and wearing my outfit...

yes smokeylo I feel that sometimes too! I felt like I (baby) wasn't getting any bigger for a week or two until a few nights ago when I got all uncomfortable at night and couldn't sleep. I've noticed it happens like that for me, I will get real uncomfortable for a few days - nothing fits right, belly feels awkward like I ate too much and I can't get comfortable - then it will even out and I am fine again for awhile. This last time I was starting to worry because I hadn't felt the growth spurt for awhile and my appetite has definitely slowed so... but she is growing well, uterus is in just the right place so I am sure everything is hunky-dory in there!

I definitely try not to stress, but I do keep poking my fundus to make sure it's up by my belly button! So far, so good, I think. This may just be a slower time and that's fine with me. He or she is moving around lots, and the movements are getting stronger, so I figure these are all good signs that things are progressing just fine.

DH is now obsessed with feeling the baby move! Unfortunately he usually leaves for work before her most active part of the day. But I definitely get big kicks and flops at least twice a day, and can feel them from the outside as well as in!

Hi everybody! dh is out of town tonight so I am on the puter! Hope you all are enjoying the wonderfulness of your babes!

I am starting to get some uncomfortable things for the first time. I am having to eat smaller meals, esp at dinner, because otherwise I feel like I am going to bust! Also I have had some back aches... two nights ago we had to sleep on the guest bed because one of my dogs got skunked and got it in the bedroom (It was horrible! I could NOT sleep in there...) and my back hurt so bad! Then yesterday I pulled a muscle in my chest/side at work which hurt like the dickens when I lay down for bed and I could not sleep because my back was hurting again. I got up this morning and did some pelvic tilts and stretching exercises which helped. I think I need to get in the habit of doing them every day.

Other than that things have been great. We got our woodstove cleaned so it is working great, no baseboard heat for us yet! I love it when the weather starts getting colder... the colors here have been spectacular!!

I like that this thread keeps getting periodically resurrected!

I'm 22 weeks now and baby moves around a lot more, though it's still not constant. He or she seems especially fascinated with the new territory opening up around and above my belly button. Ow!

We have given up for the time being on Brian being able to feel kicks. He's just getting frustrated and obviously I think the kicks are really strong because I feel them on two ends. Hopefully in a week or two he'll get some baby kicking action. He is now really excited about the baby and really wants to get to know her. This is a nice change from the high anxiety of the first tri.

We are irritated that we can't think of a boy name we really like. And we feel a little guilty because we're both kind of hoping it's a girl! I would feel better if we had a boy name lined up just in case.

I have been uncomfortable this week, too. I think my fundus is pushing up, up, up and now my lungs are a little more crowded. Heartburn is definitely worse this week, too. Guess we're in the downhill slide towards being HUGE pregnant ladies!
