Oh girl you are speaking my language!! This is so how I feel right now! And I also have work on top of all that ---and instead of feeling like I am accomplishing a little of everything--I feel I am failing at EVERYTHING!! First to go is my house and my own health...then the list just gets longer. It DOES get easier, right???

Oh my goodness, this is sooo me!! ( see my sig!) Although I do many "crunchy" things, I also use sposies and was scared to admit it to anyone on here!! So Munckimo--I will send you some "sposie using" support--and so far we have not been thrown out yet!!

Lets Talk poop---I have a question for you all---when are our EBF babies going to stop pooping so much????? I have read that BF babies can some times only poop once every 7 days or so--my 3 1/2 month old still poops numerous times a day!!! And not just little poops....BIG poops! Any one else still having lots of poop and how long until it lets up???

I do love reading about your babes---so neat how they are all growing soo fast! Mine found his voice the other day ( in the middle of a staff meeting no less!) He made this screeching sound---and his eyes kind of lit up like "oh--that was me!" So he did it again---and continued on for about 20 minutes..it was great!! Now he will do it--realize its him and then keep doing it until he gets bored with it. Gotta love those moments!

ok Mama's Big Group Hug...

If anyone's interested in joining me, I am doing Eat to Live and I am feeling real good in my body! I just started a few weeks ago and went from 146 to this morning's 137! I feel like I am finally giving my body temple the attention it has needed since giving birth. Thank goodness.

to all of you. Trying to balance everything is the hardest part of being a mom, IMO. It seems like I can never get everything to just be ok. OTOH I know it's impossible for me to be the perfect mom, wife, employee etc. All you can do is try your best.

Krystal: I have pumped a few times so that DH and I could go out(once for our anniversary) The sitter didn't use it the one time, but it was still there. It was great to be able to be able to sit talk and eat and not have to wrestle the 3 yo and calm a fussy baby. We need to do it again.

My sex drive always goes in waves. I didn't want to at all while pg and for a long time pp, but it's coming back. It may have something to do with the fact that I know I can't get pg again :

For you sposies users: You aren't alone. I use them in between my limited CD stash. I was VERY intimidated about CD, but I LOVE them! It's so much cheaper! I started with AIOs and now I'm *gulp* moving to prefolds. As soon as we get paid again, I'm ordering some. Wish me luck.

Hang in there mamas!!

I am also using sposies.. In my defense, I have been using "Tender Care" which are chemical free dipes. I really wanted to do cloth when I was PG, but when it comes down to it, I hardly have time to keep up with the clutter and the dishes and the laundry as it is, I don't think I could add one more chore to the list. :

Sebastian still has major poops as well.. it has not slowed down at all. He blows out his diaper almost every morning! It is still about 4-6 times a Day!!! :

And lots of screaming going on here too! It gets louder and louder and then he starts crying because of it.. I don't know why! Funny baby... :

Oh, ladies, I'm sorry for everyone who is having such a tough time. Here I am with my happy-go-lucky, "everything is wonderful" rant, while others having a rougher go of it.

Didn't mean to suggest things are perfect at this end either...I live in a sea of dog fur, sleepless nights, and stress about DD not eating while I'm away from her. I don't know whether I'm coming or going most days :. Just happily surprised by things on the relationship front is all.

For those of you in sposies who might be interested in trying out cloth, I have a couple of small, white fuzzi bunz that are not fitting my girl anymore (she is about 15 lbs. and 25 inches) that I'd send FFS if anyone's interested. Just PM me and let me know .

On the weight front, I have never owned a scale, whihc is probably a good thing . But I've been thinking about taking a ballet class, so we'll see.

Hugs to all, we're working hard so our babes grow up big and healthy. Hang in there, mamas!

Laneysprout- I think it is great that you and DH are doing so well! That has been one of the hardest things for me, is our relationship... It's not bad, but it has been an adjustment for sure. And topped with the no sex drive, it's been a bit frustrating for both of us.
yeah, us too. it's not that i'm having 2nd thoughts about being an AP parent, i *know* that's how i want to raise my children, esp. when they're babies. But I don't like feeling like my parenting priorities are undermining my relationship w/dh Hence, the pumping Qs and such. I mean, the sex drive is working fine over here, but Claire has completely interrupted the moment no less than 3 times, just this week!! I'ts really starting to wear on both of us

OMG Baraka, I am so in admiration of you doing Eat to Live!! I am not sure I have the discipline, but yaknow, i def. need to do something drastic over here What exactly do you eat on an average day? How do you keep the hunger in check? i have visions of myself going thru several bags of carrots a day as in-between meal snacks! I guess you have to go grocery shopping pretty often to have fresh salad greens etc? Well I have Eat to Live and The Pleasure Trap, maybe I should do re-reads... There's an Eat to Live thread here somewhere, right??

I'm just about to start the Sonoma Diet. I did it last summer before getting pregnant with tons of success. I also started it when Kylie was around three or four weeks old and I did really well for about a month. But then there was my girlfriends baby shower, another friends wedding, numerous birthdays and I fell off the wagon. I'm ready to hop back on. It's really one of the easiest "diets" I've ever tried as it's really just changing your habits, breaking your addiction to sugar and refined flour, and eating delicious, healthy food that I love.
Oh, and I want to join in on the pity party. These days it's rare to find me with my hair done any other way than in a pony tail. For two reasons, one, because I don't have any time to pay attention to myself and two, because Kylie's little hands love to get all tangled in my hair and pull. Ouch. That hurts so bad, I swear I have two bald spots on either side of my head.

Sex drive is definitely lacking here, too. I don't even think about it until dh makes a move and then I'm like, wow, it's been a while, huh? I feel sorry for him, because his sex drive is the same, but mine is like completely non existent. He just got a vasectomy last week, so at least that gave me a few days off from feeling guilty

Well, there is a lot of grocery shopping involved I won't lie

Here's what I'm eating today... pretty typical:

Breakfast:
Smoothie w/ greens, banana, peaches, pineapple, strawberries
my morning java w/ some soymilk

Lunch:
A Salad big enough to serve 4! Greens and peppers, califlower, brocs, artichokes, onions, mushrooms, olives, sprouts, and topped w/ a bean vinagrette salad... chickpeas, kidney beans, and soybeans.
Watermelon
Handful of walnuts, almonds, and seeds.

Snacks:
Banana
Celery w/ hummus

Dinner:
Cup of Brown rice cooked in lowfat coconut milk
chana masala
steamed mixed veggies
mixed field greens

So, you see it's a huge amount of food. After feeling like crap for a few days, you start to feel really good. I am skipping the 6 week plan and going straight to the more easy-going life plan. I see myself staying with the style of eating but adding more what I love on top it (not cutting down on living foods for it, kwim?) ANyhoo... it's working great for me. I think the extra energy is helping me not to feel overwhelmed w/ Mamahood.

I am pretty sure my daughter is putting me up for adoption. I put in another topic about how I gave her Malt O Meal. I thought it was oatmeal I guess. Maggie is on oatmeal or rice for her GERDS. Score no points there for being a good mom.

So today I put Maggie down for her nap. I was downstairs with the boys helping with school work when the phone rang which it was my dad. So I turned down the baby monitor so I could hear him (I leave classical music on for white noise) anyway got off the phone and I can hear Maggie screaming, MAMMA, MAMMA, MAMMA (she had only been asleep) so I go rushing upstairs to her where she proceeds to burst out into tears and gave me this look of where were you? So anyway I am sure with my two blunders she is in the market for a new mom.

That is a ton of food. I need to look into it.

I always gain weight when I eat total veg.

It also sounds expensive. Not sure about produce where you all are, but prices are through the roof here. Even at the farmer'smarkets. The other day I paid $3 for an avocado!
I think I might get the book Baraka because what you listed sounds a lot like what I typically eat. I already eat a huge salad, often with beans on it, everyday and lots of fresh greens and produce. So, I think I will order the book and see what you are up to!

In other news, we wnet to the Bronx Zoo today and had a great time. I love the gorillas in the Congo exhibit and one gorilla seemed to really like Clay. She stayed right by us, looking right at Clay and reacting to his movements and such. It was really interesting.

Yeah, i've been thinking about it all afternoon, and i'd need more funds than are currently avaliable to truly do Eat to Live, not to mention i HATE buying groceries and I hate cooking too! Maybe I can just incorporate pieces of eat to live, like the two salads a day, or eating more beans, or staying away from refined foods. Any of those would be a challenge for me right now :

A very bad confesion: I'm focusing on cutting out soda, cause we can go thru a 12-pack in a day and a half around here, and i know that's mostly my fault. well, ok, my kids don't like pepsi and dp swears he only drank 2 : so I haven't had a soda since yesterday afternoon, and I have a withdrawal headache that's making me cranky and tired.

Claire actually slept last nite, yay! Now if i could just start squeezing in yoga here and there, I think I'll be feeling better. I feel like I haven't quite made it out of that "crisis-stage" yet, yk, when your life is still a bit crazy from the adjustment of adding another family member? whew!

Yep. I occasionally feel like I'm on my way out then - BAM! Today i had myself a little sobbing fest. I am sick of the clutter and never feeling caught up on the mundane. Planning dinners is hard. The laundry room stinks between the cat litter and diaper pail - gotta find a solution to that! I feel I'm barely keeping the household above water, and have my graduate comps coming up (it's not the end - I'm not graduating til next summer), then a condensed class starting Oct. 29. What have I gotten myself into? It's not too late to back out, but I wouldn't do that. I have NO sex drive. DD started half day 4 year old kindergarten adn both are in daycare 2 afternoons a week and all the running around is already exhausting. :

Baraka, that sounds yummy! I need to get back to feeding my family healthy again. We have been slacking.

I have been slacking in all departments lately honestly. I was ECing DS, but now I only do it part time.
House is a mess.

We have been so busy! We adopted a dog, Niko. He is still a puppy and still house training. My DD is potty learning. So I have been cleaning 3 poopies a day, at least. LOL. I have been rather succesful about catching DS's poops, but missed this week.

DH has been working late every night last week. I was so stressed. And I find out that he has to go out of town.
