Is anyone else's kid NEVER going to be a large?? - Page 2

I got some large covers thinking that dd would grow into them, and that has just not happened! She's grown, but apparently not in her hips or bottom. She's 18 months now, but she's not petite; she's just tall and skinny. I am quite certain that mediums will fit her until she's potty trained.

Kay is little.. 22 lbs at 26 months old..
she was almost 2 when she hit 20 lbs

but she does wear some larges now.. some fit a bit big though. depends on who makes ..I always buy large tho..

My dd didn't fit into larges until 2yo. She didn't hit 20lbs until her 2y bday. Now she weighs 25lbs at 30 months. She had a sudden growth spurt recently.

In constrast, my 12 week old ds would fit in mediums if we weren't using two size diapers...

My dd finally moved into mediums at 28 mos.! She slimmed way down when she learned to walk. She's 27 pounds and 32 mos. old.

I think my dd would have to wear larges to college! She still fits in infant prefolds snappi-ed! At 1yr. she's just over 17 pounds and 28 inches tall. She wears her meds. on the second snap (side snaps) we can also use the crossover snaps on her sugar peas and SOS.

My dd never got beyond ML ME AF covers- she is still a bitty girl at 4 years old- very petite and shorter than her friends. My ds on the hand, seemed like he'd stay M and at 17 months is pretty much a L everything.

Uh-oh . . .my daughter is 30 inches, but less than 20 lbs . . .Britax (we have a Roundabout) recommends switching to forward facing when they reach 22 lbs or more. What to do? I thought rear facing was safer forever!

My guy is 23 months and 24 1/2 lbs. He wears his LD and pumkies on the baby setting. But he can also wear some larges. I really like the low-rise on him. Except for Kissaluvs, all the sized dipes go almost to his belly button.

I don't think ds will ever wear a large. He wears all mediums on the tightest settings. He is 26months, and about 25lbs. He also has very narrow hips and slender thighs. It's been a real problem finding diapers that fit him right.

I have a brand new, awesome fleece AIO that I bought and was waiting for him to grow into, and have realized that I need to sell it because it will be years before it would ever fit him!

I don't know.... I was certified as a car seat technician (my cert is expired now), but I don't remember what to do in this situation. I'm thinking of calling SafeKids in my area to see what the 'experts' say. Maybe you could try doing that.

I checked into the height limits on the Britax Roundabout rear-facing and found out that the older Britax seats still say rear facing until 30 in but now they've changed it and you can use it rear facing if your child is taller than 30 in if they still fit the other requirements (weight and ears not at the top of the seat). I'd call Britax for more information. I'd called them once about moving Lauren (my 3 year old) to a Star Riser/Comfy at 24 months since she'd outgrown her Roundabout and at that time the only bigger seat they sold was the Super-Elite which I knew would never fit in my car. They said it was fine as long as she was sitting properly (wasn't unbuckling her seat, etc).

I'm the one with the really large children who went nuts trying to find diapers for my middle dd that were big enough for her. She'll be 4 in 3 weeks and is 47 in tall and 46 lbs, and she was 36 in and 30 lbs at 12 months. It was hard since she hit 40 lbs and 40 in at 24 months. Not many WAHM's make XL's that really fit a 40 lb child with a really high rise to boot (she's much longer in the body). She just wore Toddler Cotton Kisses with the XXL Wee Bees side snap covers (she'd outgrown our favorite XL ME Airflows).
Lily is big as well but not quite so tall as Lauren was at this age. At 9 months, Lily was 26 lbs and 30 in and she wears a 2T, but I don't think she'll be 3 feet tall at 12 mo. But Lily wears XL diapers now. She was in larges at 4 months and on to XL diapers by 6 months. She also has the really high rise and a big belly
I only wish a big belly was as cute on me as it is on her LOL.
