Mary's Oil Blend for Frying?

Someone at our last WAPF meeting said she used Mary's Oil Blend (1/3 CO, 1/3 Sesame Oil, 1/3 Olive Oil) for frying french fries. So, last night I tried it using 2 TBS of each in a pan and then frying the potatos. They were excellent. I couldn't believe that they turned out so well. I got to thinking about the oils used and looked in NT last night. I know that the Sesame Oil and the CO are safe to use for frying... but what about the Olive Oil. Does anyone do any frying and what do you use? Is Olive Oil okay to use for this?

Thanks.

From what I understand it is better to use EVOO for cold things only (like salad dressings ect) I would not use it for frying.

Eat Fat Lose Fat, where the Mary's Oil Blend recipe comes from, specifically says Mary's Oil Blend can be used for cooking and frying (pp. 87, 188)

Thanks for the input. I do remember reading that about Mary's Oil Blend in EFLF. However, just to be on the safe side I just made some french fries using CO and Palm Oil and they still turned out really good.

I wonder if the coconut and sesame oil somehow protect the olive oil when they're mixed together and heated up?

Yes, it's an issue of smoking points. So the combination of the three has a higher smoke point that just olive oil.
