We decided to name him Sage Francisco Canyon!

Just wanted to announce the birth of our son. He was born August 30th at 9:33pm at home. We had thought we would like to do an unassisted childbirth but then thought it we wouldn't mind having the midwife who was at Joaquin's birth in attendance since we love her and she's very hands off. Well, turns out she didn't even make it and Dad caught him in the tub (an easy clean up!). The labor was sort of drawn out - I was having contractions for a couple days until they finally decided to go somewhere. They were the most painful and intense the 1/2 hour to hour and then he was born!!

I had had a dream about 3 nights before and in the dream I was told three times that he would be born in three days. I woke up and thought to myself, the 30th. We've had a dry summer here and it rained the day of his birth for the first time in around 100 days and the next day was a thunderstorm with more rain. So cleansing. We are so happy and feel so blessed for our amazing baby boy.

Awwwwww, beautiful! I love that he came when the drought broke!

I remember you talking about your hopes to have this baby unassisted, so neat that it turned out that way after all.

What a lovely birth, and so cool about the dream. My first was born the night a cold front came through after a record-breaking hot summer.
