good grief!!

DH talked to his parents this morning, and mentioned that i had lost my mucous plug last night and was having bloody show and irregular contractions, so this weekend MIGHT be it.

so, we decided to take the girls to the mall to build a bear instead of heading 1.5 hrs away to luray caverns ( just in case it happened today). anyway, while we were gone, my MIL emails us this info from john's hopkins about mucous plugs and what they are!!!

good grief woman!!!! i know what it is! i've been pg before, three times, and while i've never seen mine before, doesn't mean i'm a moron and have no clue WHAT it is or what it does or means LOL. she seriously things we are stupid or something.

i talked to my dad today who wanted to put his wife on a plane NOW. uggh. i told him that we'd call after the baby gets here, this week, next week, the following week and then she could come up a week later. i really don't like her and i don't want her here, but he'd take it sooooo personally if i didn't let her come i certainly DO NOT want her here when i have the baby, or right after i get home or that first week.

family can be so annoying sometimes.

i've stopped telling my mom about bh's and mucous plugs etc. she gets sooo worked up about it. it could be two more weeks, y'know.

I bet your MIL looked up mucus plug because she did not know what it was.

I am constantly amazed about the things the women I am related to do NOT know about birth or there own bodies.

Oh my! Family can be so intense. My MIL was pushing and pushing to come up before the baby came. We kept saying that we wanted her to come after. She claims she wants to help but then will only come before the baby or when the baby is 3 months. : I guess she doesn't want to help that much! I hope everyone stays away until you want them there!

I don't even know what to say - family and help and mil and mother and sane rarely all fit into the same sentence w/o sarcasm.

For ds2's birth my mom (who was supposed to take ds1 and was usually responsible) planned a cocktail party the day before the due date. She thought he'd be late b/c my first was. : I was trying to relax and was stressed out about my 2yo choking on some geezer's martini olive. Nuts!

Ohmyword! The longer this pregnancy thing goes on, the more I realize, The Less We Tell Them, The Better Off We Will Be!

(We being pregnant ladies, Them being crazy relatives.)

I told my mother I'd probably end up labouring on the toilet. Her response was, "Oh no! I could never do that! I'd be so afraid I would poop!" Huh? You're probably going to poop anyway, wouldn't you rather do it on the toilet? I tried to explain this to her - the birth canal being so close, etc. etc. She replies to me, "Kegels! Do your kegels!" Yes, mother. I'm going to hold my poop in with all my might whilst pressing out the baby with the other half of all my might. She's insane.

I sure as heck hope you get to be sans parental units for the birth!

i labored with #3 on the toilet almost the entire time. it felt ok while i was there, but i paid for it ( in the rear LOL) later i never even thought about WHY, it just felt GOOD to be sitting like that.

my dad was cool with my request and my MIL leaves for oregon tomorrow so i know that we'll be left alone.

but i seriously cannot believe that she thought we needed to know WHAT a mucous plug was. plus, i tell people SQUAT, literally. i am like the most private person in both families. but DH tells his parents EVERYTHING. i don't care that he told them, whatever. but i guarantee he didn't say, "oh my something came out of dana's vagina last night and today and we don't know what it is, can you help us!" PLUS, i told him it could mean absolutely NOTHING is going to happen for 2 more weeks so, he KNEW it wasn't a huge deal.

parents, i swear!
