My youngest son is 12 and going to school for the first time, he is not a big fan of sandwiches like my older boys, any ideas?

My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...

This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...

This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Obento!
Get ideas here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/bentoboxes/
They take a little time to prepare, 15-20 minutes, but they're soo tasty and fun! You can make them out of leftovers, if you are creative. I like using lettuce or spinach leaves to divide the foods up instead of little "grass" plastic dividers.

Those are incredible. But way too ... not sure what, but too something.. Can imagine how they'd react to lunch like that ... they'd flip out. Heck, I'd flip out.
Am very impressed that there are mamas with the energy to put all that together.
Will wait for someone lazy like me to post suggestions now ...

DH does not like sandwiches (i didn't know not liking sandwiches was an option until i met him!) so i do lots of crackery things, cheese and crackers, PB and saltines or graham crackers, tuna salad with saltines. i also do what i call a snacky lunch, cheese cubes, chips, raisens, applesauce or whole fruit, cookies, beans and rice are huge staple at our house (and new too, we just started eating them a few weeks ago and everyone loves it!) i know you said no sandwiches but how about wraps on tortillas? Meatballs are good too ( put in a thermos if no heating access) and you can make a huge batch and freeze into single servings. Pancakes/french toast and sausage in a thermos with syrup to dip with. HTH!

Thank you ladies!
I loved the Bento photos. Part of my issue is Justin doesn't really like cold foods and I am not willing to use a microwave. We will figure it out...
Thanks again!

What about a thermos full of a thick soup, chili, or casserole? Any one pot meal could go in a thermos!
