Professional Carpet Cleaning

I've had my carpets cleaned the past couple of years by a company that swears they only use non-toxic, kid and pet safe products. Now that I'm getting somewhat more skeptical, I'm wondering if such a thing really exists. Has anybody used professional carpet cleaning services? Mine get so disgusting from having the kids spill anything and everything on them... I definitely need to do something with them at least once a year. It'd be great to not have any carpeting at all, but that's not a possibility in the house we're in right now.

you should be able to ask for I think it's called an ?MSDS? it's a safety sheet that companies (construction, I know) are required by law to have on hand for all their chemicals, for their employees, I would think even though you are not working for them, they are working for you... that they should be able to provide that for you. If not ask specifically what type/brand/exactly do they use.
