The Keeper or ???

I think I would like to get The Keeper. A lady I know highly recommends it because it does not discolor like the silicon cups do. What do you think? Do those of you that have the Keeper like it? Silicon cup users, (like the Diva Cup) do they discolor? Any other menstrual cup recommendations?? Thanks Ladies!!

I don't have one, but the discoloration doesn't really matter. I heard that wiping it down with alcohol will help with that if it starts to happen. The silicon cups are boilable to sterilize, and the Keeper can irritate sensitivities to the rubber.

I keep looking at them, and if I ever make the jump I want a Diva cup.

Personally, I go for the silicone cups because despite any discoloration they can be boiled to sterilize. I'm a happy Mooncup UK user. More here...

I have heard that the Keeper is easier to insert, because its softer than the Diva cup. I am allergic to latex, so I wouldn't know by experience.
As for discoloration, I'm guessing the Keeper wouldn't show discolorations as badly, because its already a dark color.

Yeah, mine too. But I don't really care what color it is. I've heard that soaking it in hydrogen peroxide brightens it right up, but mine is almost 8 years old, so it didn't work for me.

I have a Diva that I used for a few cycles before getting pregnant, and it definitely discoloured slightly, but it's really not that bad. I'm not sure it's even noticeable unless you know what it looked like before. I love my DivaCup! Nobody is really going to see it except you, anyway, and I'm pretty sure discolouration is inevitible with any cup.

I've had the Diva cup for 2 or 3 years now. It has discolored, but only slightly. (It's yellowish-clear instead of white-clear now.) It does not seem to be progressive. Do I take it from pp's that the Keeper can't be sterilized? I would not want something I couldn't sterilize. I boil my Diva cup after every cycle. I've been very happy with the silicone cup, but I've never tried the Keeper for comparison.

(Truth be told, the color of the Keeper reminds me of old-fashioned toilet plungers, so I've never been overly attracted to them. That wouldn't keep me from using it necessarily, but still...)

In my experience, if you let your discolored Diva sit in a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide for about a week it will lose that yellowish tinge.

I don't worry too much about sterilizing my Keeper. I know there's a lot of discussion and disagreement about it, though, and lots of people like to sterilize theirs. The Keeper can't be boiled or chlorine bleached, but it can be soaked in peroxide, vinegar, or a tea tree oil solution. Honestly, after the first few cycles, I just started washing mine in soap and water and putting it back in its little drawstring bag for the next month. No troubles in over 7 years here!

I totally like the piece of mind knowing that if my Mooncup falls in the toilet, I can boil it to sterilize. Particularly if it was to fall in a public toilet!
