Making natural presents?

Hi all,

I know it is only September, but this year, I'm not going to buy Christmas presents. I only wanted to give things I could make and thought that some "natural" presents might do well.

Only problem? Um....a little stuck with ideas.

I made an herbal tea shampoo last night (castile soap and chamomile/apple tea) and thought it might make a good present that wouldn't be too labor intensive.

Anything else? I'm open for ideas, especially if it involves getting to use essential oils!

I'm making bottles of the "Earth Scrub" (recipe from Clean House, Clean Planet") and affixing the really cute labels I made (recipe printed right on it!). I am absolutely addicted to this cleanser and want to pass it along to my friends and family. I'm going to give a bottle of the cleanser, an organic cloth rag and a handled tote/bucket as my gift.

It seems a little silly to give a cleaning product, but my mom is starting to have severe reactions to any caustic substances and this would be a much better alternative for her....plus, my friends are getting to be a little crunchy like me and will appreciate this gift!

(ps-pm me if you would me send you the file with label/recipe attached)

I'm making "Happy Hippie" baskets for a couple family members. I'm including lemon-scented baking soda in a shaker, lemon eucalyptus-scented vinegar in a spray bottle, a recipe book with many of the recipes from Clean House Clean Planet, some ChicoBags, a small container of coconut oil with instructions for makeup removal and moisturizing, honey with instructions for facial cleansing, and whatever else I can come up with. I bought a couple lovely baskets to put every thing into (they were 50% off at JoAnn Fabrics), and viola!

I would suggest checking out Clean House Clean Planet from your local library. There's a ton of recipes in there! SkiMama, I'd love your file for the Earth Scrub, I'm sending a PM now. Thanks!

I'm : for more recipes

Lemon Baking Soda
Fill a platic fill top shaker half full with baking soda. Add 15-20 drops of pure lemon essential oil. Stir. Fill the shaker to the top with more baking soda. Put the lid on the shaker and shake it. I used an empty plastic Kraft parmesan cheese container and have used an empty glass spice jar for smaller batches.

Lemon Eucalyptus Vinegar
Fill spray bottle half full with water and half full with distilled white vinegar. Add the lemon-eucalyptus essential oil until you get your desired smell. I use a lot because I don't the smell of vinegar.
