What kind of soap for washing a diva cup?

I just got my 1st PP AF and its my first time using a menstral cup so I'm not too sure what to wash it with. I've just been rinsing with really hot water.

Also, how do you clean the little holes on the sides?

AND... what do you do when there's no sink? (even at home its annoying because our bathroom is long and narrow so I'm waddling towards the sink with my pants at my ankles and my toddler pulling on a leg )

I'm on my 4th or so month with the diva (and just switched to cloth pads for those 1st couple days that need back up - love 'em, too!).

During my flow, I usually just rinse with hot water. For cleaning out those little holes, I squeeze the cup along its "tall" side to kind of open the holes a bit, and that seems to work well. I sort of roll it between my fingers, to clean it out.

A couple times during my cycle, and at the end, I just wash the cup with the Dr. Bronner's soap we use for showering - just a couple drops - and rinse it really well. That seems to have worked just fine so far. Some people boil them, but I'm afraid of hurting the cup. It's just me using it, so I'm not too concerned!

When I'm out, I just dry it with toilet paper as well as I can while I'm in the stall. It's a bit messy, and if I'm using back up, I've even brought it to the sink quickly to rinse then gone back into a stall to insert it again. But usually just the toilet paper does okay. I do try to avoid having to change it out and about, it's hard enough with 20-mo-old DD in the stall w/ me, pointing and saying "icky!" or "poop!", and keep older DD near the stall!

And, oh yes, I'm another one walking the length of the bathroom w/ my pants around my ankles! no ideas for that yet!

I wash mine w/Dr. Bronner's unscented baby bar and rinse really well. I don't like the idea of scents in my yoni! In public, I just wipe with toilet paper and wash when I get home.

I use Dr Bronners also and then boil it with a splash of vinegar added to the water at the end of the month. I've had mine for years and it is unchanged. Really!

As for cleaning while out, remember the peri bottle from your birth? Sometimes I forget and just do a quick rinse with a water bottle. If I don't have one on hand I use either a baby wipe.

At home, yeah I waddle too!

i'm very careful to use only really really plain unscented soap (i use our natural unscented dishwashing liquid) on my diva after i lazily used my face soap last month and gave myself the worst yeast infection ever. my face soap has TTO in it, and let me just give you the simple equation, anitbacterial soap + diva cup = BAD NEWS!

to get the holes clean you can just hold the opening against the palm of your hand and squeeze the cup a couple of times, and air should come out of the holes. if they seem clogged, a diaper pin will do the trick to get them cleaned out.

I've used a pin for the holes but now I just squeeze the cup vertically at each hole and run my fingernail over the hole to squeeze/scrape the crap out. And then I wash my hands.

Um - I have never washed mine with soap. I boil after each cycle and put it back in the bag. I guess I wouldn't wash the inside of my vagina with soap but that is just me. As for the holes, I rinse the cup then fill it with water , put my hand over the top, turn it upside down and squeeze. The water squirts out the holes and ta da super clean.

No soap here either. I just put mine in a glass bowl filled with water and nuke it for a few minutes. Then I use a toothpick for the holes.
