Still waiting . . . anyone else?

I really want to have this baby. I was bawling the other day b/c I thought it was gonna happen and hasn't yet. I'm not even 41 weeks yet, but I am SO ready to be done. I had bloody show all day on Saturday and thought, "Yes, this weekend." Then I had contractions for about 4-5 hours on Sunday and those fizzled. Now I'm just waiting. I normally love congratulating all the moms on their new babies and I haven't even been able to do that. I'm so discouraged. I'm sick of being pregnant; I want to be a mom. Anyone else in this club?

I'm not still waiting, but I definitely know how it feels and I can sympathize! DS1 was born at 42w1d, and DS2 at 42 weeks. Then, because I lied to everyone and told them a different due date (so I wouldn't get harassed), everyone just thought I was being really impatient! I wanted to say "no, to you I might be only 40 weeks, but to me, I'm REALLY overdue!"

Just remember that you're still pregnant for a reason. The baby still has some finishing touches, or your body is still preparing, but it WILL happen!

I think the first baby is the hardest one to wait for! You don't have anyone else at home demanding your attention to keep you occupied.

Soon you'll be holding your wee one!!! I promise You can't be pregnant forever.....even though it FEELS like forever at the time! In a week, you'll be holding that little one....and thinking...I miss being pregnant!!

Really . . . I can't be the ONLY one left?! If I am, I'm asking you all to use your momma powers to send good working labor vibes my way.

If there's still others waiting with me, maybe you're just trying to avoid looking here until your little ones arrive, but I'm feeling very lonely (and bigger by the second) right now.

Thanks Danell and Holly for the kind words. On a somewhat different note, this is my 1,000th post. I was hoping that my baby's birth announcement would be 1,000, but maybe that's what's been holding this little guy/girl back. Yeah, right.

Yep....your little one was waiting until you were a senior member

Okay little....it's time to come!!!!

I know you're not the only one. clancybaby is over 40 weeks with twins!! and she's still waiting too!

I'm still here and feeling your pain!! I was "due" 8.26!

Not overdue here, but wanted to offer my support. DS was 41w1 day, so I know how hard it can be to wait!

Hi Sabo, I'm still here. On my way to 41 with twins. It's definitely hard to wait, but I waited to 42 with my DS back in 2002 so I didn't particularly expect these guys early once I got past the 36 week worry mark. Everyone seems to think and say that twins always come early and I've now skipped OB appts because I just don't feel like hearing the hogwash anymore - I say whatever to all of them.

Your body is getting ready and your baby will be super healthy when he/she arrives. Some just need a little more cooking time (so easy to be so logical about someone else's birth, then I remember that I'm waiting too!)

Take care and try to relax. Rest up when you can so that when you go into labor you have as much energy as you can. hugs.

hang in there sabo. i am sending good LABOR vibes your way.

Noticed your thread and thought I'd send you some more good vibes. I've been thinking my babe was on its way for like 2-3 weeks now (hopeful thinking) since the due date is up in the air. And...alas....no babe in my arms yet. Many are waiting still, so you aren't alone. Good luck and know that it will happen very soon. Geez, it has to, right?!

Thanks ladies. Its good to know (well maybe not "good," but reassuring to know) that I'm not alone. There are so many wonderful threads about having the baby and how life has changed, baby's eye color, etc. right now, and all I can do is daydream about all that stuff.

Last night I was famished before I went to bed and ate TONS of food out of the cupboard (so hungry that I ate immediately after I had brushed my teeth). I was convinced that my body just wanted me to stockpile some energy for a long night ahead. Nope, I was just pigging out for the sake of eating. I had been feeling a little crampy last evening and before bed had some good pelvic pressure. I have been told that sleeping will often strengthen all that; wrong, mine always goes away. On the plus side, I only had to get up one time to pee last night.

clancybaby: You are such a trooper! Essentially you have probably been expecting your babes since around 3 weeks ago at least.

Well for all of us still waiting, I don't know if I can send "labor vibes" b/c I don't seem to know where to find those, but I want to send some positive vibes to keep discouragement at bay. This would be a great weekend for our babies to decide to join our families! Here's to hoping that our babies agree.

Well, I'm normally not awake at 5:45 in the morning (except to pee, but certainly not to post on MDC). Not super labory yet, but my water broke at 3ish. I tried to go back to sleep, but I'm having some trouble with that. I hope this is a good omen for all of us who are still waiting.

Good luck!

I went to 42w 3 days and am glad I did: baby Sinead fed so well on arrival!

There is this interesting Ballard score where they estimate gestational age based on physical characteristics at birth:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballard...nal_Assessment
http://www.ballardscore.com/ScoreSheet.htm

The nurses tell me her Ballard score was 39-40 weeks: so she was just a slow cooker and needed all that time!

Wishing you and your baby safe labor and delivery vibes and a joyous first meeting!

yay, sabo!!!

That's interesting about the ballard score plummum. according to my edd, baby was 41wks 1day. But according to the mw's exam, the baby was more like 38-39..... not sure how that's possible, but it's interesting. She definitely needed time to cook!

Good luck Sabo!!! I hope you're holding your little soon!

The two times I went into labor on my own, it was at 39w4d and babes were perfectly cooked. My second ds I was induced at 37w and he was 'scored' at only 34w and spent 3w in the NICU since he wasn't ready at all. We were told the twins looked full-term at 38.5w. I think every baby is different and if we let them...they take the time they need to 'cook'!

Alexis!!!! Lots and lots of ELVs to you. I've been thinking about you tons and hoping you were holding your babe. I have to tell you that I am very much enjoying my fully baked little one. The wiating sucked, but the end result is sooooo worth it!

I'm hoping the lack of updates means you're holding your little one, Sabo!

Just a little update on Sabo, from her dear husband...

Yesterday (9/9) at 3:10 pm, Sabo delivered a darling baby.... awwww, she doesn't want me to tell you just yet.

What I can say is that, while things did not at all happen as expected, both Mom and baby are doing just fine.

Sabo will be out of the loop for a few days, but when she gets back, she'll be the one to fill you in on the juicy details.
