How many still nursing and pregnant here? - Page 3

I'm nursing TWO and pregnant! It's still early so I don't have any discomfort or supply loss but that will come. I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY hoping my ds will wean PRONTO but we will start being proactive about it when he turns 3 in January. I am NOT Triandem nusing. No sir no way no how.

um....unless non-clw doesn't go well :

I don't see dd weaning anytime soon, but tbh, I really hope she does before the baby is born. We will not encourage it (maybe subtly, as I haven't been a huge fan of tandem nursing) but if it happens that would be great.

that's my story.

Man, nursing is REALLY starting to hurt . DD is cutting back, too. It hurts to say this, but part of me is not sorry. I've stopped offering. We only nurse when she asks ...

I just want to say that I bought "more milk two" by motherlove and after 24 hrs taking it my ds has had more wet diapers and more dilute looking urine in the potty. I work weekends, so I will be curious to see how much I am able to pump since it was decreasing last weekend.

still nursing here! and we will tandem nurse again after the babe is born.. i don't see DD2 weaning anytime soon she is only 14 months...so she'll get to nurse with her younger sibling just like she did with her older sister I am just happy I am not tandem nursing and pregnant. lol, that would probably be a different story...

My 4-year-old hasn't breastfed for a week. It has all been pretty gentle really, she's been going without her daytime nap so really exhausted by about 6.30 and I get her all ready to sleep then we drive to pick up her dad from work and she falls asleep on the way home. He carries her to bed, cos if she smells me she asks for a drink. I think that's it cos I can't see myself going back once this week has gone by now, especially since my nipples are on fire. I was ready for this so I'm quite glad about the timing, any earlier though and she wouldn't have been ready so it has all worked out quite well.

Hi...I'm just checking out this thread since I'm around 6 weeks pregnant and dd is still nursing at 21 months. I'm having a lot of nipple tenderness and I'm wondering if I'm losing supply already because she's been really frantic about nursing. Sometimes I hear her swallowing, but often it's just frantic sucking. I can usually distract myself during the day, so it's not too bad, but she's started to wake up much more at night to nurse than she has for a long while, so I'm going a bit crazy with that...and feeling quite sleepy!

I nursed one toddler through my second and third pregnancies, and nursed two toddlers through my third, fourth, fifth, and sixth. I am now nursing two and on my seventh pregnancy.

This time around, I am trying to gently wean my 2 1/2 year old, while the 14 month old continues to nurse. I'm just getting tired. And it's hard to nurse two kiddos while pregnant.

joyfilledmama, I also lose my milk early. Right away the babies start to act funny, and I think it's because the taste or quality changes. At about 6 weeks, my supply begins to diminish, the quality of sleep goes down for everyone. By 10 to 12 weeks, my milk is completely gone. I do have a friend who managed to keep her milk her entire pregnancy. I wish I could do that!

I can definitely relate with the waking up more at night bit!!! My 12 month old wants the boob in her mouth all night long, and since I can't sleep through it, that's just not going to cut it. I'm getting to the point where night weaning is weighing really heavily on my mind. Luckily, I don't have too much soreness.....yet!!!

Still nursing here too, dd will be 3 in December. I'm not sure about tandem nursing, just going to see how it goes. She had been slowing down lately. She only recently stopped nursing in the middle of the night, and that's when I got pregnant. The last couple of nights she's been waking up again and wanting milk though, so who knows? I mean she calls the shots around here anyway, so I figure making any concrete plan is pretty pointless.

I've been meaning to jump in on this thread. I'm nursing my 28 month old. I just finished Adventures in Tandem Nursing (started when we were TTC to be prepared). I'm going to continue some gentle mama-led weaning over these next months. We have limits now -- don't nurse during the night until daddy's alarm goes off, don't nurse in public anymore. I'd like to get down to nursing for naptime and nursing for bedtime soon, and then hold on to those or drop them if I just can't take it anymore. I hope those two-year molars come soon because I don't want her to go through that without the comfort of the boob! Though I do think she'd dry/comfort nurse if the teething starts after my milk is gone.

Yup, me too. Ds is 27mos. I really planned on letting him CLW, but it is getting much harder. I had a hard time tandem nursing with the first two, but did it (mostly) successfully for 18 mos. I just don't know that I want to go through that again, but I know it will make the transition so much easier. Ack. Both kids still wake up at least once every night, so lack of sleep is part of the problem.
