I am about to not only break my back but go crazy- I have about 1500 sqft of hardwood floors in my downstairs- agh- so pretty, but with 2 kids, 2 cats, 1 dog and lots of sewing it is a MESS all the time. Most days I am pulling my vacuum around using the small hose- not fun! Any ideas on a sweeper vacuum that is worth the money?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I love my Roomba. It's a little pricey but if it's in your budget, it's very, very worth it! We have all tile and hardwood in our house and it does a great job. Now, you have to pick up the toys and shoes and socks and babies and stuff off the floor before you set it loose but other than that...
Oh, and you can get a "scheduler" so that you can set up the Roomba to sweep on certain days and times. (But see above about making sure items are picked up off the floor first.)
HTH!

I have a rechargeable Shark, and I love it. I still need to vacuum occasionally, but the shark pulls up the visible lint, crumbs, pet hair, etc.

:Similar situation here, lots of hardwood and vynil kitchen, one dog, and also sew all the time. I sweep and Swiffer because if I try to use my regular vacuum it just blows stuff everywhere. I've been lusting after a Roomba for some time.

I really really love my cordless Electrolux Pronto 2 in 1.
I have heard good things about the Shark, too, but I liked how the Pronto has a detachable handheld.
Bonus part? My 15.5 month old son LOVES vacuuming with the Pronto! (Mama has to do a lot of it, for coverage, but he loves it!)

I recently used a FloorMate and LOVED it! It sucked everything up (even those dustbunnies that normally go flying everywhere) and it also mops and dries if you want it to.

We have the dirt devil vibe. It cost $50 and works great! We no longer use the old plug in vac.
