Anyone have Medicaid/Medical, and not vax?

Any problems with the no vax status? Did either one threaten to cancel your coverage if you didn't vax?

I have medicaid and don't vax. They can't cancel your coverage because of that. Just say you are religiously opposed to vaccines. They may bug you, but they can't cancel your coverage.

My dd had medical coupons and I did not vax her. I live in WA and as far as I know they cannot refuse to treat or cover your child based on an exemption status. I was not asked to sign anything. I would bet that state or federal-funded insurance policies cannot discriminate based on vax status. Same goes for WIC. They cannot withold benefits because of vax status, although I have heard that some will try to scare you into believing that.

The only problem I can see is finding a doctor that accepts coupons and is also tolerant/supportive of your vax decisions. I got lucky there but I can see how it would be a problem in some areas.

We have Medicaid and don't vaccinate. No issues here, other than the crap-butt doctors that Medicaid provides. *ugh*

Its free to you and you complain?

Good doctors do not work for free.

Socialized medicine at its best.

And... the doctors on medicaid don't NOT get paid. They get paid by medicaid. Duh. Its just like any other insurance.... the only real difference is that they can't bill you for whatever medicaid doesn't cover unlike what they do with other insurance!!

Wow, how incredible rude of you. You obviously aren't on medicaid and have never had to deal with being treated like worse than a second class citizen.

And they do get paid, our tax money goes to it. The least I could hope for is to be treated like a human being.

Here's to hoping nothing ever happens to you so you need it.

yeah, its all free. all of the ignorance and scaremongering i have encountered for QUESTIONING what was in vaccines, being told i was brainwashed by the internet. it now makes me a terrible, paranoid parent because i research what is injected (or what is not) into my child. i would rather not have the coverage then have free medical. and for that reason, my child no longer sees doctors.

are you required to go to well baby visits if you have medicaid?
No. They can't make you do anything, and don't let anyone scare you into thinking otherwise.

Nope, they cannot make you do anything. FWIW, I have medicaid and don't vax either. I haven't heard anything at all, and while her doctor obviously disagrees with my decision, she doesn't give me any grief about it at all. I lucked with that one.

This is a very classist thing to say. Most often, people who don't have a lot of money are also hard working, caring citizens who want nothing more then to give their children the best. They, for whatever reason, can't afford the insane cost of medical insurance as it is in the US. Also, doctors who accept medicare are NOT working for free-the state does reimburse them. It's not a large amount of money, but it's some-and yes, any good doctor who took his oath seriously should be willing to do some free work. I might get flamed for saying that, but I believe that access to health care is HUMAN RIGHT, not a privilege.

Don't act as if those of us on medicaid should be "so grateful" for what we have and to just sit down and not say anything. We have a RIGHT to good doctors who respect our decisions and who treat us with dignity and respect. All doctors should be held to that code. I believe that the government has a duty to provide quality health care to those citizens who cannot afford it. That is their duty as a governing body, and it is our right as citizens to have access to life-saving services. I don't believe that just because you have money you should be able to pay for better services. Everyone should have the same high quality of health care regardless of ability to pay. No one should have to suffer at the hands of incompetent medical personnel, not the rich, not the poor, not prisoners, not anyone.
