I also use a ziplock bag, the ones you now need on airplanes, ykwim? For washing and keeping at home I highly recommend a special mesh washing bag (don't know the name)
I use some imsevimse and some poplini (European brands), but am not too happy with imsevimse: the night pads leak through the wings, and move around in my undies. I have plain organic cotton ones. I am still looking for some with PUL for nighttime use. If I wash them with clothes at 40°C they still have stains.

But they are very comfortable and I feel so much safer chemical wise. def. get some!

: I have never really seriously considered using cloth pads - just toyed with the idea, but I find this thread really intriguing. Does anyone have an idea why using cloth pads would make for a shorter/lighter/easier period?

I have some bamboo velour Amaz Padz and totally love them.

I bought 12 deluxe and 9 postpartum pads with two liners each. In retrospect I probably just should have got the deluxe as I don't need the extra length on the pp pads.

I just take them off and throw them in the wash the next day. Nothing fancy. Mine are very brightly dyed, so I haven't seen any stains.
