Mood Swing #592

I can't stand myself lately. This afternoon I was so short with DD and then lost it and yelled at her right before nap time. It was my fault and I took it out on her. I felt like crap immediately after I put her down for her nap. Still feel like crap! : ( When she wakes up in a little while we are walking to the playground so we can have some quality time. I know I really need to catch myself before I get to THAT POINT. How do you other Mamas cope with your mood swings?

I know exactly what you mean! Pregnancy brings out the worst in me as far as my moods go. I know that I am having crazy thoughts or overreacting about things sometimes, but I can't stop myself.

I have been fortunate so far (and really didn't think I was that bad the last time, until my 12yo daughter said something about it after the fact that caused me to realize I was BAD) and the moodiness hasn't really set in. I would suggest vitamins, exercise & getting enough sleep. (Bet you've never heard that before!)

I exercise, take my prenatals, try to eat right, and get plenty of rest, though my girl sometimes wakes a couple times a night. I just feel the heat rising sometimes, so I need to learn to catch myself before I blow! : )

Does it seem to be more common during certain times of day? When blood sugar is low? When you're more fatigued than usual? I know blood sugar is a huge thing for me (pregnant or not) and really seems to affect my moods.

I get the big ole' blood sugar drop too and it makes me crabby. I think yesterday's issue was a tired thing, but then again I wasn't able to fall asleep with dd during her nap. Who knows. Today we are getting out, so that should help! : )

Add me to the list. I find myself getting heated over my kids simply being kids. I always have wicked mood swings while pregnant.
