bamboo floor and paint color

We put bamboo flooring in our attic. I loved it in the store, but am unable to make it look good at home. We haven't even finished painting since I don't know how to make the room look nice. I have white trim (which I want to keep since the windows are white) and green walls. I don't love it though. Does anyone have the natural bamboo flooring paired with a great color?

I should add, the reason it is difficult is beacause some colors make it look yellow, which I don't care for.

We have the carbonized Dragonboard upstairs (chocolate brown) and it looks great with the blues in my bedroom. The rest of the house is the natural yellowy. I have sage green in the LR and it's too minty for my tastes - I want it greyer and less greeny. Maybe a more yellowy tone inthe paint would go nicely with the yellow tones on the`floor... the DR is a grey/blue and although it has no yellow in it whatsoever I like it just fine. Just not with the icky green. It's really so trial and error... mostly errorr IME! But the blue looks great, in any case.
eta: in the white rooms the floor looks amazing. Maybe stay with very pale color that is closer to white.

I would suggest very light blue ... and try indirect lighting?

You could even call the manufacturer with this question

Maybe a really light color light a blue or purple. There is a lot of trial and error with color since different people pick out different parts of the color.

If you can bring home paint chips to study in the room against the flooring you may have better luck. There is quite a bit of yellow in bamboo.

Or maybe a rich brown? It doesn't have to be dark; just really saturated. I think that would cancel out the yellows.

We're shopping around for bamboo right now too (just bought a new house!!) and we are torn between the really really pale, and the really dark (almost espresso).

Pepperdove, you used two different colors in your house? It sounds like one color is upstairs and one is downstairs though; our house is a single story, so I don't know if it would work for us to use a different color in the bedroom or something like that.

I think the light is part of the problem. There is a ton of natural light. There are big windows and skylight. Everywhere I saw this floor is kind of dark. I think I like it better in the dark.

I may try a brownish color or try to deal with the green I have and work with a color on the ceiling walls as well (it's an attic).
