I know this combination can be used for unclogging drains, but is there any other use for mixing these two together (cleaning-wise, I mean)?

Thanks!!

i use both of these as the majority of my ingredients to clean my house. bathrooms, kitchen counters, etc.

i always mix them too. i mix them as needed when cleaning. i don't mix before hand.

i find they work well and like the vinegar smell. i try to clean (not deep clean) once a week or so that i don't have to really scrub hard too much.

I find it works like a scrubbing bubbles on soap scum for sinks/tubs. I also use in toilets - in both cases I sprinkle bs first then spray with vinegar then scrub.

The combination, after the fizz settles, is actually a buffer solution, which is a great cleaner. Look up 'baking soda and vinegar' and buffer solutions on the internet, and you'll find out more.

Great to know the combination is safe and useful. I'd heard that mixing them creates toxic fumes. Not so, then, right?

Mixing bleach and vinegar or any other chemical based products can cause fumes. I wouldn't mix most cleaners together, especially if they have ammonia or bleach in it. Mixing homemade cleaners without chemical stuff is safe though. Just don't put those two in a bottle or you'll get a Coca-Cola bottle-like explosion. Wait until the mixture fizzes out and then use it in a bottle if needed.

I mix baking soda, white vinegar, and some EO's together and do a doggie wipe down if he is getting kind of stanky but I don't have time or energy, or he doesn't have the energy (like after a particular surgery) to give him a bath.

Use ALL the Time!

Baking soda and vinegar is our newest, favorite natural cleaner! Even my DH likes using them together (the bubbles, perhaps!). Anyway, I keep a spray bottle of vinegar in my bathrooms, as well as a cheese shaker filled with baking soda. Then, I can sprinkle the soda where I wish to clean (toilet, tub, sink, floor, shower) and spray with vinegar. I have replaced almost all my cleaners with this combo. For toilets I use this sometimes, but also use the Seventh Gen cleaner. A friend had to do a side-by-side test for her DH to prove baking soda and vinegar was as effective as the mainstream cleaners. If you like the smell of vinegar, this is a bonus!

Nope. Just carbon dioxide.

This I gotta find out more about. You're saying a sodium acetate buffer has particular cleaning properties? Compared to what? Yes, I know technically it's a soap solution, but that kind of soap shouldn't have any grease cutting ability. What does it clean?
