Two thing I can remember during my labor is using one of the techniqes we used in our childbirth, I think it was called the slow dance or somthing. I hated it when we practiced it in class but it helped in the moment. So for me it was hard to tell what I would actually find helpful in the moment.
The other thing that I think helped with me was that my midwife never checked my progression until I started complaining that I couldn't do it anymore and I wanted drugs. And when she did I was already at 7cm and I knew an epi wasn't going to happen. I think if I had been constantly told of my progression I might have gotten more discouraged and been more tempted into the drugs.
Other than those two things, I don't remember a lot of my labor other than being in and out of the tub and constantly walking around.
Oh one more thing I remember is in the end when I was pushing they wanted me to change positions and it was so painful I couldn't. In the end the midwife thought some of the pain may have been because my bladder was full-so this time I'm going to try and remember (or have someone remind me) to pee more!
