Super sleepy baby

My daughter is 16 days old now. She's still sleeping pretty much all day, and all night. I nurse her a couple times at night half asleep, but we don't get up unless she has a poopy diaper. I love that I'm getting enough sleep, but at the same time I feel like there has to be something wrong. How motherly of me, huh? She may have been awake for an hour total today. A few minutes here and there...

Anybody else have a baby that sleeps all day and night?

That's mine too. My first was not like this at all. DP is starting to worry about it. But from talking to other friends it is completely normal. Some babies don't seem to "wake up" until they are a month old.

How I wish. My baby is so gassy & uncomfortable he's up all night. & yesterday all he did was catnap.

that was my first. He never was a great sleeper. gave up naps by the age of 2, and before that it was only one 45 minute nap a day. Somehow e got through it, since it was all I knew. BUT he does now sleep for 10 hours at night straight through. Nothing wakes him you can vacuum right next to the bed, you can move him from the couch to the bed and he stays sound asleep. it's great.

My baby was like that for a short while, then I found out that she has a sensitivity to dairy. Since I cut out all dairy products, she sleeps like a rock and often. She just turned a month old 2 days ago and hasn't actually woken up yet. I hope she stays sleepy as long as possible. It lets me get more done if I can just wear her in the mei-tei or put her in her swing while I do housework and she sleeps and sleeps and sleeps.

my dd is like this too. i keep wondering if somethings wrong with her. she'll sleep 4-6 hours at a time without eating unless i change her diaper (even that doesn't always work). ds ate every 2 hours day and night for the first few months. only waking up once at night is nice. but having really full boobs and a babe that won't wake up to eat and relieve the pain is not so fun!
