Another pregnancy/progesterone/breastfeeding question

I am at 6 weeks and into my 7th week now....this is about the same time that my twins stopped growing, and of course am worried (read "freaking out big time").

I am almost 37 and bf my one year old still quite frequently (about 4 times a night and 6 times during the day). I am concerned about low progestrone as I understand that women over 35 have a natural drop and bf can interfere with progestrone creation.

My question is....is it too late to start progestrone supplements now?

I am going this pg UP but am seeing a doctor on Monday regarding my ds heart condition and I could bring it up then. What do you think?

Anyone....

I am really trying to avoid a miscarriage and would love some support/advice from those who have experience with progesterone, personally, or professionally.

I don't want to start a thread in a couple of weeks saying "I think I am miscarrying again..." I want to have a baby announcement in April!!!!

Are you using a progesterone cream? If so then I would go ahead and use it. If you are truly concerned, maybe it would be worth an office visit to have your blood drawn. There's nothing saying you dont have to go back once you feel ok about the pregnancy. Women at any age can have a problem with breastfeeding and pregnancy - most of the time its not an issue.

Personally, the progesterone cream was not enough for me. I had a hcg/prog level done at 6 dpo, my cycles are screwed up and my OB agreed to check it when I had other labs needing to be drawn. It was 6, very low, so I started a prog cream, I had a "feeling" I was pg. At 11 dpo I got a +hpt and my prog level was 8, I started oral progesterone:Puke. After a week on it, my level went up to 33!!! Had I not started prog, I'm sure I would have m/c'd. I would get it checked, most docs like to treat if less than 20, not sure about midwives. HTH

I am not taking any progesterone right now...

My question is "Is it too late to start taking progesterone at 7 weeks of pregnancy?" And if I start now can it prevent a miscarriage (due to low progesterone levels) this late in the game?

Anyone?
