after a very short, intense labor she was born into her daddy's hands!! Mw arrived soon after.

We are feeling altogether blessed!

I knew when I went to bed last night that it was going to happen soon. Things were starting to feel surreal.

I woke up this morning several times ( w/the urge to poop but would fall back to sleep)... I think these were the first contractions & it went on from 3-4. Then I had one where I HAD to go, I sat on the potty & really just cleaned out. This happened w/every contraction for about 40 min., I think they were about 5 minutes apart. I got in the bath for a few contractions & had to get out to go to the bathroom again. I tried to lay down in bed but it was unbearable. I woke up dh & told him I thought it was time. I went back to the bathroom yet again & by this time the contractions were so intense that I asked dh to call the MW who lives 80 miles away. I talked to her in between contractions & told her to be on alert but not to come right away. I hung up & felt another contraction & decided to time it... this one peaked, started to wane and then came right back twice lasting a total of 6 minutes. I had dh call the MW, my friend who held my mama blessing (so everyone who attended could cut their bracelet & light their candle) & his work to call in.

I was having really REALLY intense contractions, but didnt' think I was that close. I had only just started to have pink mucous during the first 6 min contraction (around 6:10). I wanted to be alone but was thankful dh was there. I asked him to clean up the kitchen & I was pacing around & moaning through the contractions. It got to a point where the only thing I could do during a contraction was stand on my tiptoes with my feet turned in. I had no idea what was going on & couldn't control myself. I kept having back to back contractions, as soon as it would start to subside a little, it would come back even stronger. There were a few times where I had complete relief and I had some smoothie & watched the bats flying around in the dawn light. But it would only be for a minute or two & then intense contraction. It felt like she was going to come out of my butt and I said that several times. The contractions felt like they were going to burst me internally. Then I had thee most intense contraction and felt myself pushing a little & the water broke... I yelled to dh. I suddenly had such intense pressure that I quickly had to get down on one knee & felt down there & the whole area was bulging out. I told dh that her head was right there & I HAD to push... but remembered to hold it while she crowned to avoid tearing. This was the hardest thing I've ever done... I only held it for 30 seconds or so, putting pressure on my perinium. I pushed a little, out came her head... dh checked for cord & I pushed her body out. She was having a hard time breathing/crying at first but I held her up to my skin & rubbed her and she made a raspy little cry until she was breathing & pinking up. The midwife got there about 10 or 15 minutes later and helped us into the bed. We delivered the placenta and nursed in the next hour.
We are blissed out! The little baby is healthy, nursing well & very mild. She has the most amazing little songbird voice.
