I did it!

Hey mommas,

I'm a new member... been lurking for a few months now...

Just wanted to give a shout out to all you mommas who NIP. My DD was born in June and I've been using a cover to nurse her when out and about for the past few months. My DH and I took her to Disneyland this week and I finally had it with trying to get my squirmy little girl to latch (and nurse comfortably) under the cover.

So... I bit the bullet and started my brave journey to become a momma who NIP. And I must say I love it – it's so much easier than trying to manage a cover and my hungry baby.

Just wanted to say thanks – many of your posts inspired me to do it!

Yeah! I nurse everywhere, anytime without a care in the world.

I was so modest before DS arrived... All it took was some latching trouble in the beginning and a dozen or more hospital employees helping, not to mention my in laws seeing me falling out of the gown and showing WAY more than I did once nursing became manageable. Plus DS has inherited my lack of patience--I need instant access for him!

Good for you, mama--it gets easier and better and better all the time!

Yeah, I've tried to nurse my DD with a cover. My mother was always complaining about why its so hard for nursing women to "cover up"! Well now I know! My DD thinks its the best game in the world to play - Peek-A-Boo with a blanket....while nursing!

Luckily I have been able to NIP without any problems in many places. In fact, just tonight I was at a wonderful vegan friendly, BFing friendly Japanese restaurant and we were all able to have a wonderful time! I wish business owners would learn how GOOD it is for business to NIP. Me and DH were happy, baby was happy and thus quiet and other patrons could then also enjoy their meal with a happy quiet nursling.
