finally found a doc to fill in for me on mat leave... you have NO idea what a HUGE relief this is for me.. I booked her for six weeks (I can't believe I commited to that much time off!) buuuut she is doing two days a week for me so I am *sure* knowing me I will be in teh extra day pretty fast! not to mention having to go in for payroll, bills, notes, billing etc at least 1x per week from day one.. anyway,, I am soooooo relieved, she seems really cool and has tons of experience and is female (added bonus )

I have an interview with a nanny on Thursday and high hopes (based on phone interview and personal ref froma very trusted friend who knows her well) that she will work out as well for infant care after my (indulgently long!) mat leave..

If I get both these things in place I might actually be able to relax for the last two months of this pg !! Oh my!

That's awesome Laura! Wow, 6 weeks is not even close to indulgent! You sound very dedicated to your practice. Can you take the little one along with you on the paperwork/office days?

yes, baby (and prob evan) will be in tow for any "short" office trips.. The time it is REALLY hard / close to impossible to bring along is for my long days MWF 8:30 to 7:30 or 8 pm.. so I only need childcare MWF, teh otehr days are flexible and not usually more than a couple hrs at a time.(unless I have a court appearance or deposition but that's a whole other thing). I am hopeful that things will work out.. with DH working reg now there is also A LOT less financial pressure on me so if I take a loss for a few months and we won;t starve.. I ma so lucky that I have a wonderful family oriented practice and many many of my pts feel like family to me.. we have a great group of folks that come in to see us I am definitely commited to caring for them and their families to my best ability
