Is feeling pressure "dangerous" for my twins?

Hi, I am 21 weeks+ PG w/ twin boys and I have been feeling lots of pressure this week. I have "over did it" twice this week, and really I didn't do much either time.

Wednesday I got up and left my house for about 3 hours to run errands. I took water and drank it, it wasn't really that hot out either. It was raining and I did carry my 2.5 year old into the stores aprox. 4 times so she wouldn't get her shoes soaked. I also pushed hte grocery cart. By the time I got my my crotch was SO sore, I had to lay down for about 2 hours. I was throbbing and in very bad pain. After laying down the throbbing stopped, but it was still really sore/pressure feeling down there, like AFTER you have the baby. I cried myself to sleep it hurt so bad. By the next morning it was all better, minimal pressure and no pain.

Saturday we went out w/ DH and I didn't lift the 2 year old except maybe once or twice just to put her in the car, not in the carseat. I did push the cart for a few minutes in the store, but mostly DH did. We were gone aprox. 4 hours, and by the time I got home I was having cx 10 minutes apart and lots of pressure down there. I layed down all afternoon, not really in "pain" but uncomfortable would be my word. It just felt like there was too much pressure on my cervix/vaginal area. The cx. went away after I had layed down just a little while, so mainly it's just hte pressure I have been worried about.

Does anyone know if this pressure is dangerous to my babies? Does it put me at risk for preterm labor? Should I be laying down whenever I feel it, or should I just put up with it and go on with my day? Is there anything else I can be doing to help decrease this pressure besides just laying down? I feel like I am not going to be able to do anything in another month, go to the grocery store, walk around for more than a few minutes, take my kids places, ect.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice. I am planning to call my OB on Monday and ask them about the pressure if I cannot figure it out by then! It's really worrying me.

I had terrible pressure the entire second half of my twin pregnancy, and tons of contractions whenever I did anything at all. By 25 weeks, the contractions were constant anytime I walked further than from my kitchen to the couch. I wound up restricting my own activity a lot starting around then, because it was so uncomfortable. By 36 weeks, I could hardly walk at all.

Anyway, my twins are fine, and I made it to 37 weeks with no problem and would have carried longer had I not had liver disease (a whole other problem) that caused us to schedule a section.

I think that a lot of pressure is typical for a multiple pregnancy. It really is so different carrying more than one, and the discomforts start way earlier and get much worse before you're done. But seriously, if you're worried you wanna get somebody's opinion who knows a bit more than me.

I started feeling the same way that early. I took it as a sign to slow down and do way less than I thought I could do. Not easy with toddlers around, but it had to be done! Twin pregnancy is just not the same as singleton.
