birth buddy?

Anyone interested in being paired up with someone that you/DP would call/email etc when you go into labor, or if something happens and you'd be offline for a while? And then that person could keep everyone updated?

Just a thought...

LOL I was expecting to be sitting on my laptop during labor since its the only thing that can keep me distracted! I expect to be checking Facebook, Myspace, and Mothering keeping everyone apprised haha

I am so the opposite of Aimee...I think I totally disappeared from online entirely during L & D and when DD arrived. So something like this might work for me. It'd have to be a call though since DH isn't exactly great with internet stuff and rarely emails.

I could likely update here when I go into labor...but I'd have to call someone when I have the baby.

Count me in! I suspect I'll be online pretty much until transition because, like a PP, it distracts me But I'd love to have a "contact" person!

Good idea!

Count me in. It would have to be via phone for us since we won't have internet at the hospital (no laptop!) Preferably someone in my timezone too- I think that might work a bit better. Obviously I wouldn't wake anyone if it's 3am though! Hopefully I'll labor at home for a long time and update here myself till we leave out and then be home 6 hrs after the birth. *hoping!*

I am so ADD ... I don't want to let anyone down, so I am not going to join. But I think it's a fabulous idea!!

Actually, I'm with Gina on this. I'm not ADD but I'm trying to avoid PPD this time and need to have as few responsibilities as possible after the baby is born. So I'm going to change my mind and pass.

But I'll be online eventually to share!
