DH plays in a reggae band...ds and I were at the show and a little girl came up to me while I was bfing ds and asked what I was doing. Her mom got a bit uncomfortable and told her to come here...but I told her that it was okay...and that I was feeding him. She then said "he eats you." I then explained that I make milk for him to drink. She thought that it was really neat. All while I was explaining this she was rubbing ds's head. So sweet. Just thought that I would share.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I had a similar experience while getting ready to be in my friend's wedding. I was nursing Gabriel before getting my gown on and the flower came over, peered at him and then asked me "how do you make the milk for him?" and I answered her "my body does it all on it's own in my breasts." and she said "that's really really neat."

I've always welcomed inquisitive children while BF DS and many of them seem to rub his head while asking... Must be a soothing thing?!

That is so sweet!
My niece, who was 3.5 yo when DS was born was so confused at first about breastfeeding--if he is hungry you give him a bottle, right? My sis explained BFing, and after a few more visits she will now say when DS starts to fuss, "Aunt Kris, Charlie needs to nurse!"
Normal, like it should be!!!

Totally unrelated to BFing, but this story reminds me of a story my mom told me about when she was pregnant with me (33years ago)...
My brother was about 4 yrs and he asked my mom why her belly was so big (apparently he hadn't been paying attention to all the pregnancy-talk), and as my mom was explaining that she was pregnant and that there was a baby in her tummy, my brother became very upset.
"Mommy!" he cried, "Why'd you eat that baby??!!"
