Nursing tops again!

OK, I'm starting to realize that I need to get on the ball and order the stuff I will need after this baby is born--the clock is really ticking now!

I can't decide how many nursing tops to buy or what size to get. Any advice? I know from DD that my size will change, so I don't want to buy too much right away, but I also want to make sure I'm not having to wash shirts constantly. Also, any advice on size? I'm usually an XS (size 2) pre-pregnancy, but my boobs get huge when I'm nursing (36D, which on my frame looks ridiculous), and I'm one of those "all belly" pregnant women, so I just had to buy size large shirts for the fall in order to keep my belly covered! So, I know I will be sporting the big jiggly postpartum belly for quite a while. I have no clue what size to buy? Any opinions?

Hmm...

I really like MilkFace Boob Tops. They have a really easy nursing opening...unlike some others that are more constrictive. They are longer in the waist and stretchy. Very comfortable and last a long time. They are expensive...so I only have a few things: a few tanks to wear with everything and 2 dresses.

Maybe check out their sizing info on their site?

Hope this helps!

I found that last time during those first adjustment weeks when I wasn't leaving much anyways, it was just easier to wear huge tshirts. Leaked milk didn't matter, nor did modesty Maybe something simple like that to get you past that first period would buy you some time to see how your body adjusts and what it needs? Guessing about post birth stuff is so hard :

I like the boy tees from Motherhood and Motherwear. I still wear them even with pregnant belly. I'd try on one now and get the size that covers to your belly button. They're light enough for summer and warm enough for winters in VA even though they're long sleeved. Even with my arms swelling due to blood volume, they still fit, and I can still wear my size L so long as I wear full panel pants. When I'm not pregnant, I wear a M-XL depending on the cut and the fabric. I have broad shoulders for a woman, so how stretchy the fabric is makes a difference in the size I wear. Pardon my ramble. I'm not awake really...

I really want to get a couple Bravado nursing tanks this time. They look so supportive and well made. The tank looks long too, which is great bc I hate it when I flash belly. But they're expensive!

I think you'd be fine with 2 tanks, as long as you aren't a leaker. I have four from last time, 2 in one size and 2 in another. But I hate how they squish my boobs. I'm looking for some with more support and less smash!

Target has some nursing tanks rather cheap, and I plan on just wearing them under another shirt.

But, I never worn a nursing anything with DS til he was like 2. I didnt see the need, but I'm on the smaller size...boobs included!

I didn't wear any nursing stuff (other than bras of course) with DD either, that's why I'm asking so many questions--its all new to me even though this will be my second baby! I ended up regretting not having the nursing tops, as the bulk and exposure of the pulled-up regular shirt really got to me after awhile. Plus I feel like some of the tanks or wrap-style shirts would make nursing in the sling a lot easier. Its just so hard to know what size to get!!!!

I measured my chest last night and was thinking I'd add an inch and order in that size (I hear when your milk comes in they get bigger) I'll order a couple things for immediate post-partum and then more later when I know.

Someone who just had her baby told me that nursing tanks are really really really really really great and useful, so I plan to get two for now and then more when I see how they fit. The Bravado ones look good but I don't know yet. Also, a couple of comfy nursing bras (the sleepy-time ones) for home.

I'm the opposite! I went from wearing lots of "nursing" tops with my first--and finding them to be uncomfortable and restrictive--to just yanking up my regular shirt.

In the winter, though, I really don't like having a bare belly. Brr! I wear the Boob Top tanks year-round and love the opening. It's just a simple flap of fabric for both breasts...not one for each side, etc. I also like having a couple of dresses to wear to various things.

I wear their Large size...I'm a 38C.
