The Nine August 2007 Twin Mamas Amazing Stats!

There were NINE mamas due with twins in August of 2007 and we kept track of our stats.

Girls ruled! 12 of 18 babies were girlies! And only one set was boy/boy!!

Every mama made it to 35 weeks! (One mamas 34w6d, but surely that counts for 35 weeks!!!) And we had some HUGE babies! One mama had both babies OVER 8 lbs each!!!!!

SIX of NINE went to what most medical docs consider 'term' (37 weeks) with twins!

TWO mamas went past 40 weeks.

We had one unassisted homebirth of twins!!! WTG MamaRabbit!
And one HB with a transport for the second baby!!! WTG clancybaby!!
Three both babies vaginal births--one with the second baby breech.
Two vaginal/c-section births (Coincidentally both mamas who went past 40 weeks had to have this "Best of Both Worlds" delivery.)
Three mamas had c-sections.

YES! The August twin mamas (including you, Holly! who gave the gift of parenthood to others!) definitely rock! I'm so proud of all of you and glad to have watched the thread to see the stories unfold of pregnancy and birth! May you all have blessed babymoons and hope to see more about your children as they grow! (and looking forward to when Holly is having a child for her own family next!)

Crunchy, thanks for the recap. It was fun to be a part of this group. A quick update for all of you - we're finally home, all of us. It wasn't long compared to what some deal with but I'm glad the incarceration of Kiera is over!

Interestingly enough, Kiera was transferred in dire straights but by the time the 15 min trip was over she had mostly healed herself...the only treatment she received was supplemental O2 and a whole lot of NICU staffers trying to find something else to treat for the five days she was stuck there.

So, alls well that ends well! --
