Midwives...do you think taking Omega 3 fish oil while pregnant helps prevent PPD?

I have had PPDepression twice. I was able to take 15 mg of Zoloft for 2 months and then go off of it, just to get me out of the woods. In my last pregnancy I didnt get hardly any vitamins at all in my pregnancy.

I would like to be proactive in my next pregnancy..(high quality prenatal with Omega 3 fish oil)

THe question is basically, Do you think when the mom takes Fish oil through out pregnancy and postpartum, have you notice that it helps to ward off depression, or do you at least notice less depression,ect when They take this?

I was concerned that too much EPA (Ultra Omega 3 NOW brand) would cause blood thinning, or too much blood loss at delivery although I have not hardly any problem before (I have birthed 3 babies) Could this be helped by taking Chlorophyll or Chlorea during pregnancy in addition to the Fish oil?

The midwives who I'm working with as an apprentice recommend fish oil + B6 throughout pregnancy and postpartum to help prevent PPD. I have heard nothing about blood thinning concerns. HTH!

Thank you so much for responding...I am kinda researching ways I can prevent it, So far during pregnancy..
1) taking Omega 3 EPA fish oil (4 softgels+ Dr. Murray fish
oil)
2) take high quality multivitamin (with high potency B
vitamins such as Prenatal Blend from SuperNutrition)
3) Exersise
4) Light therepy through pregnancy and postpartum
5) Dealing with stressful situations
6) Aromatherepy (Happy Mama Spray,ect)
7) Flower Essences (such as NewMama Essense and
pregnancy/postpartum essenses)
8) Whole foods like Spirulina, Wheat Grass, ect to boost
amino acid and boost nutrition.

Anybody else have any suggestions or expereince?
