I'm ravenous

It's terrible, this hunger. I want to eat all the time, and not junk food. I want *meals* - meat, grain, veggies, lots of herbs. I am already 20 lbs over my normal weight and can't afford to gain 40-50 lbs like I did with my first two kids.

Any ideas on how to not be starving without getting fat?

Well, it sounds like not wanting to eat junk food is a good start . At least you have that in your favor!

Other than that, no advice. I know if I don't eat I get really nauseous, so I just keep tucking away small meals. Lots of fruit and protein -- it makes me happy .

I eat like a horse!!! I failed to lose about 25-30 pounds of pre-pregnancy weight ~ though I feel really healthy and stay active. I am hoping I don't gain like last time also ~ 70 POUNDS!!! YIKES! Luckily JUNK FOOD IS NASTY this go around.

I gained about 70 lbs, too, and started this pregnancy about 10 lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight with ds. Junk food sounds gross to me, too! (thank goodness) I think at this point in my last pregnancy, I'd already gained a couple of pounds, lol. Here's to moderate weight gains!

no, weasel was already taken here

nice to see you again. you should pop on over to the board sometime, i'm sure everyone would love to catch up. lmk if you want me to remind you of the URL

oh and congrats

anyway, back to topic. i gained 50lb+ with dd, was borderline with gestational diabetes too. i'm going to do my darndest not to let it happen again *cough* (say's she as she sucks down a hot chocolate - not a particularly healthy one at that) *nonchalant whistle*

The only idea I have on not gaining a lot of weight is exercise, exercise, and exercise...It is super hard to control what you eat when you have that crazy pregnant mama appetite. If I indulge, then I make sure to walk, run for now, or ride bike for 30 minutes or sprint around with the kids to work it off.

Yeah, a long time ago it stopped working for me and then I was never able to get back in. PM me the link and such. Is there a password?

Last night I made quinoa and black bean salad and a huge, bloody steak. If a cow would stand still, I would gnaw on it. Sorry to the vegetarians.

Galatea

I am so not ravenous. My appetite is like a third of what it usually is. Unreal! And right from maybe a week after conception it has been like this. Last time it came back at about week 14, so I'm assuming same will happen again.
