A Great Find For Those Of You Doing Letter of the Week!

I just found a link (from the best Day-by-Day Calendar of Events I have found) to a book that sounds perfect for those of you doing Letter of the Week! It's called Apples, Bubbles, and Crystals - Your Science ABC's. It's geared for 4-8 year olds. I'm tempted to buy it even though we aren't doing LotW.

I hope someone finds it useful!

It's that calendar! It has so many great links that I have never seen before. Considering I've been researching homeschooling since I was pregnant with my almost 4 year old and I've seen a ton of links that's a bit surprising to me!

Oh and I added a few more links to my last post up in the sticky thread tonight, too!

Love the calendar! I like it better than the one at Enchanted Learning.

That book is so much fun! I used to use it with my kindergartners when I was teaching. THey loved it - I particularly remember making the kazoos - that was a fun and noisy day, lol! I will have to dig that book out - Holden would really like it. He is very into his letter of the week lately

Thanks, that looks like a fun book!

I've also heard good things about ABC Science Experiments by Harry Milgrom, illustrated by Donald Crews. It is out of print, so I'm waiting for it to arrive by interlibrary loan.

This looks like a great book. Thanks Jessica. Of course my husband is not going to thank you when he sees the checkbook just got smaller.

Oh, wow - this is an amazing coincidence! Just a little while ago I followed the link to the chemistry.org/kids site that you put in the "so exicted!!! need resources!" thread - found that book described in it, and wrote a post about it in that thread while thinking it would be a good one for this kind of thing! For this to come to both us us from entirely different sources in one day is pretty interesting - must be "a sign," huh? - Lillian

I mean other than the obvious GMTA ("great minds think alike") thing, of course...

Okay, enough procrastination - off to run more errands... - Lillian
