this stinks!

almost one week pp and i have not lost a single pound i'm guessing there was about 10 lbs at least of stuff that came out of me but i weigh the same.

i KNOW i am retaining a TON of fluid. i had NO swelling before the baby was born and NOW my feet, ankles, legs, face, hands, and stomch are all swollen to the point of being painful. but i can't believe it's 10 lbs of so of fluid.

tonight ends my "eatting whatever i want." i'm going to look into weight watchers and i hope to be able to get back into the gym next week.

anyone else not lost any weight yet???

it *CAN* be all fluid.....

i was like that with dd#1......it sucked.

i took a lighr diuretic (per mw) for a few days and the swelling went away +8lbs...

mama!

i've lost alot but since we didn't know for sure exactly HOW much I LOST in the beginning bc of of the Hyperemesis (didn't have my first appt with MW until 10wks and I had already lost alot) we know that alot of the weight lost so far was already lost if that makes sense....so she thinks I lost a total of 30ish lbs the first 2 trimesters....so I am smaller bc of THAT and that only....

it'll come off...

i would talk to your mw/ob about the swelling....

OK, I'm still pregnant, but this is my response to all those mama's who have a baby. My first, DD, was 7 pounds. I swear to god, I weighed the same a week after, which had me a bit disappointed and disillusioned. WHen three months later I was still pudgey and quite round, I was still disappointed and disillusioned...and then suddenly (well, not so suddenly I suppose), at like month 7-9 I started losing the weight (still breastfeeding). So, mama, it is disappointing, but you just take care of yourself and your little one right now...and forget about the weight as much as you possibly can. Enjoy the baby moon and stay off the scale! "It took 9 months to gain it, it'll take 9 months to lose it"--always made me feel slightly better. Take care of yourself and don't buy into the hype. You are a beautiful mommy with a newborn. Trust me, you are supposed ot look just the way you do right now...too bad that doesn't make you feel absolutely gorgeous...but it should.

Okay I'm the other extreme..

I've lost all pg weight (which was only 13lbs, since I lost 10lbs during pg), and am 10lbs under the pre-pg weight. I'm trying to make an appt to see a gastroentoloigst (sp?), as something can't be right:

I was the same as "J-Bean" with my first. I wasn't losing any weight the first three months. I had started working out again around 8 weeks and I couldn't take off a pound. Then, right around month 4 (still breast feeding), the weight just seemed to melt off and I wasn't doing anything differently.

Sometimes I think our breast feeding bodies hold on to a little bit of weight, just to make sure we can adequately take care of our infants needs. But hang in there, it does come off!

yeah i've never had this happen before. i've always last like 15 lbs right after delivery and the rest in like 3 mo or so.

i am not unhappy with the way i look at all. i mean, i had a baby a week ago and i think i look pretty good for a week PP but i am shocked that giving birth to a baby, placenta, amniotic fluid and whatever else has left me with NO weight loss LOL.

i am TOTALLY hoping that it's because i'm retaining all of this water. and i cannot wait till my feet are normal sized again. right now, if i did have a babe attached to the boob i would never believe i gave birth a week ago. i feel absolutely great!!!!! OTHER THAN, my sore swollen feet and canckles oh and they look SOOOO gross! LOL

mighty mama, that rocks. i had hoped the same would happen to me. i only gained like 12 lbs. so i had hoped to come home weighing less than when i got pg guess not. oh well. hopefully in time, but kuddos to you. i hope it's all very normal and nothing is wrong with you!!!!

With my first after I lost all that water weight (it hurt to bend my fingers too) I ended up losing what I gained plus some by 6 months...it just came off...slower than I would've liked but it did...and then at 7 months it crept back on plus 10....LOL.....

I second what a PP said.....beautiful mama with a beautiful baby..

I *only* stepped on the scale to see what my weight was so I could try to guestimate how much I really lost to the HG....otherwise, I would've been in the same boat freaking out, but knowing better.....
