DD and I were at the mall today desperately (and pointlessly) trying to find some clothes that actually fit her (she's almost 4 and but only 30 pounds--anything long enough for her falls right off). Three little girls (maybe 4, 6, and 8) came up to me and one of them pointed to my (quite huge) stomach and asked, "What's IN there???"
I almost peed my pants trying not to laugh out loud. I patiently explained that there was a baby in there, and that she is very tiny, so she is going to grow in my tummy for a couple more months until she is ready to come out. The girls thought this was the strangest thing they had ever heard. They all wanted to touch my belly and see if they could feel the baby in there. The youngest one kept lifting up my shirt to see if she could see the baby! It was soooooo funny! They were ther with their poor dad who clearly had no idea how to handle this behavior--he didn't speak English and didn't know what to say to me or what to do! I thought it was hysterical!!!!
