Is FRER known for evaporation lines? *pictures added* You'll never believe this..#128

I tested today at 10 DPO with FMU. I watched as the control line came up, then got distracted with DD. At that point it was negative, however, about an hour later I found a congregation of dogs and a toddler in the bathroom running the water and throwing toilet paper into the bathtub ( : ) so I was re-acquainted with the test, and wouldn't you know it.. there was a BARELY visible line!

I did what any other TTC Hopeful would do. I cracked it open and held it up to the light. You can't see the line any better held up to the light. In fact, you see it best while it's sitting on the counter.

I'm trying to find my camera, but I think DH has it.

What am I to make of this?

I have no idea if the line showed up before the magic 10 minutes ran out. These pictures were taken less then 2 hours after I dipped the stick. All the evaporation lines I've seen took a lot longer then that to show up.

I will definitely re-test tomorrow. It's going to a loooooooooooong day.

If you don't know if it showed up in time, you can't take it seriously.

Go get another test!

I've had delayed ones...it looks like you are but possibly very early. Get another test in a few days if you want.

It definitely looks like a positive to me!! I don't think FRER sticks commonly have evap lines... atleast not from my experience. Also, that line has colour to it which I know can happen with Dollar store evaps but I've never heard of it with a FRER.

Definitely keep us updated when you retest but I'd bet you have yourself a BFP!

Hold your pee for three hours, take another test, and you won't have to analyze this one anymore! This one will be old news.

FRER are very reliable for me. I think this is a positive but test again to be sure.

I had one of those last month and was not pg. It showed up at around 20 minutes and it was on a dollar store test but I don't remember the brand name.

If you take another one, watch that baby! Don't let 10 minutes go by without checking it. Good luck either way!

It was a hectic morning. We're having sporadic thunderstorms here right now (South Florida) so we get claps of thunder that come out of no where, and my dog is terrified of them and runs around the house barking, then the other two join in because, well, if one is barking then they all should, right? : Between the thunder and three dogs taking off to bark at nothing, it scares the crap out of DD.

I am betting it is positive. The way I found out I was pg was I took a FRER and a dollar store in the morning, both negative. Went away for the day, came home at night and obsessively dug them out of the garbage to find light lines. I figured they must be evaps, but held my pee and took another test at like midnight and got a positive. But everyone is different and apparently some women are more prone to getting evaps than others, I don't know why.

Which is why I am being conservative and saying test again. So... test again already! Are you holding that pee? Not drinking anything? Going to the store right now for another test? Hmmm???

Neither of mine were even that noticable. Mine were very very faint. I would call it a positive IF it came up in the specified time period.

Do you have a dollar store nearby? The ones near me are almost as good as FRER, they are 25 mIu and I got positive with them the same day as FRER.

Yeah, Dollar Tree, which is "New Choice" I believe? I've heard those ones do funny things - evap lines and disapearing positives. I was trying to stay away, but now I'm tempted.

I am in Canada, so here they are Pro Care. But pics I have seen look exactly the same.

I would say if you can scrounge up enough for another FRER, go for it. Otherwise, dollar tree will tide you over! Or, can you go to the clinic for a urine test there? I'm not sure how things work in the States, but here you can get a good one at a walk in for free.

If it matters... the control line is lighter (not really lighter, but just thinner), but the "evaporation line" is still clearly visible.
