Great tip for pro-longing consumable workbooks!

We don't use workbooks with DS (and don't plan to really) but for those who do a friend of mine gave me a great tip...

She said to use a disappearing ink pen on the workbooks... I guess if you leave the page exposed for 48 hours the ink will disappear. I don't think this is something I'd use all the time, but it might come in handy for puzzle books, dot to dots, etc. She uses them for her little boy who is addicted to dot to dots and the highlights puzzlemania books. They work okay with paper that has a nicer finish, but not for coloring book type paper.

Interesting. I wonder if it would eat up the paper at all.

Cool idea! (Although we just use our photocopier/printer to make individual sheets ... a bit of a waste, but we do recycle!

well the pens are safe for scrapbooking so I assume they are acid free... hmmm good question.

You could also get some blank transparencies and use transparency pens. Then just rinse off the transparency when you are done.

yep but for tiny preschool hands I thought the pens would be a safe bet (since they are just tackling learning to write and honing in on their fine motor skills). When DS grows older I might do that or stick the pages in a page protector (along the same idea)

We cover each page with contact paper and use the "water washable" pens and crayons so we can wipe clean the page. Mostly this is for dot-to-dot puzzles or that sort of stuff.

I have always used cheap photo albums, from the dollar store or similiar. They hold up fine! I had a book for mazes, another for dot to dots, etc. Just use a washable marker or wipe-off crayon.
