Sweaty hands

Ds has sweaty hands always. I'm not sure why but his hands are always sweaty. It has become a problem with writing. His hands become so sweaty that he literally can't hold the pencil. He never wants to write because it frustrated him.

I guess I need to buy some powder or something. Anyone else have experience?

I always have sweaty hands... adding a bumpy rubber grip to pencils, or buying pens with a textured grip helped.

DS2, still an infant, inherited my sweaty hands It's embarrassing in social situations when I need to shake hands. I am always trying to anticipate a handshake, and discreetly wiping off my hand in my pants ahead of time...

I was wondering if those pencil grips would help.

It really does cause problems at times. He tried to take guitar lessons and stopped because his hands would get so sweaty his fingers would slip off the chords. So now he does piano. He also needs help taking legos apart after building, opening things if he can't use scissors to open it, and now writing.

Maybe that's why he likes soccer so much....no hands involved as he is not goalie.

He gets so frustrated at times and there's nothing I can do.

Mt brother was diagnosed with palmar hyperhidrosis (abnormally sweaty hands). He uses a perscription antiperspirant each night and sometimes applies it before certain "hand intensive" activities (he practically bathed his hands in the stuff during his deployment). I know there are more invasive treatments like surgery, but sometimes the antiperspirant is enough.

For the writing though a rubber grip or perhaps something like a foam pencil cover? So the sweat would actually get absorbed a bit while the pen would still be slim/graspable? I know my brother hated writing by hand but part of this was his lefty-ness and the way the writing would smear. He really prefered working at a keyboard.
