I'm going to take a nap

Who's with me?

I'm exhausted, cranky, and generally BLAH today. DD gets out of school an hour late because she has drama club, so I have some extra time too! I've been averaging 2-3 hours sleep a night plus MAYYYYYBE a catnap during the day if I'm lucky. I'm wiped out!!

I am going to have a little nap too. It is overcast and kinda dreary here, DH is asleep on the couch, the dogs are asleep on the dog bed... I could definitely benefit from some shut-eye. But it is my day off and I should get some stuff done. I just need to be extra disciplined when I wake up, I guess!

Going to take one myself in a minute!

I keep saying I'd be game for sleeping right through the whole 3rd trimester.

Top it off... DH decided he's going to get back in the swing of going to the gym. That means I wake him up at 4am when his alarm goes off (and doesn't wake him) and again at 5 because he didn't get up and I didn't really get back to sleep and have to pee. If he does get up, I'll usually toss and turn till 6 at which point I decide to see if he's gone or asleep in his computer chair trying to get a few things done for work. Usually the latter.

heading there now myself!!

I've been up since 4 am...ugh.

Its a cold, rainy day here. Perfect for a nap - we are suppose to go to the Red Sox game tonight...not sure if that is really going to happen. It really is nasty!

I stopped napping at 3 years old and I haven't since without some help from antihistamines. It blows my mind that people can sleep when its still light out!

I love naps and take them every day that I can.

Some days I am okay and some days I need a 2 hour nap!

I agree with trying to rest before labor. With my last I was utterly exhausted when I laid down after 10pm (had been up and on the go since 5am) and my water broke! I went into labor instantly. There was no rest.

This is why I gave in and had an epidural. I needed to sleep and I was able to sleep a couple of hours with the epidural before pushing Jack out the next morning.

BUT that bit me in the butt as epidurals take away labor pain, but not birth pain. That's fine... I like the ring of fire because I know it's going to end soon with a baby in my arms. But I couldn't feel or move my legs and even after the birth one leg wouldn't work at all.

And I couldn't push as well. And my BP crashed and I ended up unable to fight for our rights as they "stole" my baby and I literally felt like I was dying but couldn't tell anyone. It was an awful experience.

So, much rest needed this time! Though I also have faith that even if I am tired, a homebirth will be more restful than a hospital because I can relax and if I am resting in a dark room to save energy, I won't be poked and prodded and annoyed every ten minutes. ALSO, I can eat and drink to keep up my strength.

I take a nap pretty much every day. I don't think I'd survive without it, I'm not sleeping well at night. Tried skipping the nap to see if that was WHY I wasn't sleeping well at night...no good, still couldn't sleep. I hadn't wanted my kids spaced this far apart, but I tell you, it's coming in handy in this instance.

I agree! I don't have to worry about my older kids waking in the night right now and sometimes I can steal a nap when they're all home doing homework, etc.. It's a small house, so if anything's wrong I will hear.

I nap a lot as well. I stay at home and this is our first so I have that leisure time.

I didn't take a nap today because I slept 13 hours last night. :

Well, I slept the afternoon away yesterday. My plan was to get some of the storage stuff out of the baby's room and get the diapers, etc organized, the curtain rods hung, the furniture in place, and the bureaus switched out (she is getting mine and I am taking the one from that room). So much for that- I slept till 4:00, got up, made an early dinner, and watched the tube for the rest of the night.

I typically take a nap with ds every day. Without it, I'm non-functional beyond 3pm!

There are some days when I feel a burst of energy and want to accomplish some things in peace while ds naps, but 99% of the time, I snooze with him... It's kind of fun... he insists upon having his hand on my belly the entire time just in case his brother kicks.

I can't nap either. It's really hard during the newborn days. Everyone tells me to go take a nap, but I'm not a machine that you can just turn on and off. I need long, dark sleepy hours, not a few naps here and there in the daylight. I am in big trouble again when this baby comes!

naps have been looking appealing again! i actually took one on sunday after our first birthing from within class and it was the loveliest thing ever, but there was a block party that day and someone's blasting music woke up me up after only 30minutes.

i took a TWO HOUR nap every day for many weeks in the first tri. my husband, sensing that i'm starting to slow down again, keeps teasing me that it's funny the only trimester where i had a ton of energy was the one where i wasn't teaching!
