Who here is seeing one and what are you having adjusted?

I went monday finally for the first time in almost 2 months because I had no child care and then 2 weeks ago when I had some, my van broke down : ...so once I got in there I was in baaaad shape!

He seriously adjusted my hip bones like 10 times, no joke and it freaking HURT big time,...but I felt better afterwards for about a day, but now it hurts again so I plan to go back thursday.

I wonder if that is the baby's positioning?

Anyway, if it were not for that I swear i would feel like a million bucks at 38 weeks

Anyone else going and what are they helping you with?

I'm not sure exactly what she is doing but I feel pretty good considering. I went yesterday and she did something that made me cough for about 10 minutes but it cleared up my nasty congestion that I had for a week and a half. Doc!

I have been going for about a month now, mainly because I started bringing my daughter for her clubfoot, and figured I might as well get adjusted too I was having some really bad back pain, and that is gone. My right hip still is pretty sore, but it feels better after an adjustment.

I am actually getting some accupuncture done tomorrow as well to help make sure this baby is in optimal position and to remove any obstacles.

My chiro generally does a treatment at this stage that... okay, can't explain it well... I think it's basically cranialsacral therapy, as she's got one hand down on my sacrum, and another moves up my spine. It does something (as evidenced by how differently my legs move after) but I'm not sure what! She also uses the Activator technique (little thing that pushes instead of her using her hands) on my pelvis and particular spots that are bad. No big jerky movements, though. On the front, she'll massage the ligaments to try to open everything up. She'll also work on my pubic bone (which tends to bother me a lot). She'll do normal adjustments on my upper back and neck, shoulders, etc., too.

I sometimes wish she'd adjust my pelvis over and over! I think it might help more, but I don't really know. Getting it done repeatedly really can help, though - that is, over a period of a few days/week. I have been seeing her no more than once a week because she's 40 minutes away now. I saw another doc yesterday but didn't like him all that much, so cancelled my follow-up. Closer, but just not a great comfort level in the office, kwim? There's one more doc in town that's highly recommended and I may see her, too, just to try to cover my bases!

I'm glad some of you are going..

I went w/ ds1, had no problems.. Didn't go w/ this pg, and now I'm paying for it..

Apparently, since I have an old injury. And didn't get adjusted beforehand. The shifting caused by labor and birth, re-aggravated an old condition..

As of today, I'm doing a little better, but my sacroiliac joint is killing me. I have trouble walking, getting up from a sitting position, and wake up in immense pain...

So keep up the good "preventative" work.

Typically I don't believe in chiro adjustments on a regular basis. I think there are many other things that can help teach your body to go back in place on it's own like Cranial sacral therapy, spinal network analysis, regular massage etc. I feel they are also gentler on your body. However that being said I think the chiro can be beneficial. One of those times is pregnancy or post birth. Anyways, long story short I've only had two adjustments this pregnancy but one was yesterday and I did/do feel so much better. But I prob. won't go again until pp. and I will get the baby adjusted as well.

Yeah this is what I get done too, he has me lay facing downward ( on a dropping table) and he pushes on each back hip bone while the other hand is up my spine...

I can actualy WALK afterwards, its amazing

Speaking of massages...I also get massages done...i have my last free pg one this saturday then dh will have to take over after that!

He has yet to breakout his table this entire pg and massage me
He has no excusenow, if I need it he needs to get over his massaging a pg woman anxiety (it's because he hasn't technically been *trained* in pg massage...thats why *sigh*

I've been going almost 1 x week since 28ish weeks (I'm 41 now). I see a doc who specializes in prenatal chiropractic. I initially went because the MW told me ladies who see chiropractors and belly dance have good labors. I figure it's my first so I'll pretty much try anything (I never managed the belly dancing).

Initially, she did a LOT of (good) PAINFUL fascia work on my lower and upper back and shoulders. Then as the relaxin got flowing she started to adjust my pelvis and pubic bone much more. She's always done the neck. I lay face down on a table meant to accommodate pregnant ladies. The table is also a first for me - it can be ratcheted so she uses less force to make the adjustments - she pushes on me which in turn causes the table to "fall."
She never adjusts me by twisting my body sideways. She uses the Activator on my hips.

Yesterday, at my first post-edd appointment, she noted "my energy felt much different - more centered," my fascia was loose and happy, and the worst was my hip/butt joint. After she adjusted my pelvis she massaged The Spot on/in my butt (those of you who've ever had sciatica know what I'm talking about) and I started drooling and stopped speaking. Beautiful!

I love it!!

I know I am in love with my adjustments...but i have to be careful because my chiro is VERY nice looking, VERY married and VERY Christian

but it doesn't stop me from wanting to jump up (as if I could right now *ROFLMBO*) and hug him every time (never have just saying...) because I feel SO much better!!

I've been going to the chiro since July and he's helped SO much! At first, he'd adjust me and I'd be back in pain pretty quickly, but after going for a month or so, I really started to feel continual relief. I go once a week now and I sometimes schedule another appt sooner if needed, but I usually don't have to.

He's mostly focusing on my hips, but I have some old back, neck, and shoulder injuries that he also works on (he was my chiro when I first got those injuries so he knows just what to do ). He also did some Webster technique when he heard the baby was posterior, which worked. The baby shifted within hours of seeing him. He said having a posterior baby can cause lower back pain *before* labor and I think he's right. Once the baby moved, my back got a lot better.

The only painful part of my appts is the webster technique. It HURTS when he pushes on those pressure points, but I know it's for the best.

If it continues to hurt, let the chiro know. First adjustments are usually kind of painful, but it really shouldn't keep hurting.

I have been getting adjustments weekly throughout this pregnancy and it's made a huge difference.

My chiro specializes in children and pregnant women and is very gentle.

I know he does a Webster check every week. He also adjusts my neck and upper back every time. Today, when he did my upper back, he mentioned that it helped with my ribcage so I could breathe properly (I don't remember his exact words) and I was surprised. I have been able to breathe fine this time around, and with my other som I was short of breath the entire time.

I have been going to a chiro for the past month. It really has helped a lot. My left hip keeps moving. I want to make sure that I am all lined up for this coming labor and delivery.
