Fibre Reaction Dyes for Diapers?

I've got some plain used diapers on the way and I plan to dye them using fibre reactive dyes- is this the same as RIT??

Can I buy just the dye or do I need something else too?

Where can I find this dye for the best price? Thanks!!

HI!
Fiber Reactive dyes are definitely not the same as RIT. RIt is known to fade or bleed. Fiber Reactive dyes are the best dyes for fabrics and can be purchased at www.dharmatrading.com If you poke around their site a bit you'll find the information there about how to dye and anything else you might need. I recommend purchasing some Synathropol as it will keep the dye is suspension and prevent it from running. Soda ash is used as a mordent and can be purchased at your local pool supply store under name brands such as Ph UP or Ph Rise.

JoAnn fabric stores have clearanced their selection of Dylon Quilter's dye, but if you can find any at your local JoAnns this is a good alternative.
I do like Procion better, but Dylon is nice too.

The kind you would need is the quilter's cold water dye. Comes with the soda ash fix in the box, and has excellent instructions.
I think createforless.com carries this dye as well.

If you dont want to order from dharmatrading, most craft stores like Michaels and AC Moore carry Procion. Its just in much smaller amounts and more expensive. But you get that instant gratifcation
