Nesting, nesting, 1...2...3...

Anyone nesting? I think I am ready to start. Granted I am exhausted but I got up this morning (and yesterday morning), took a peek in the baby's room and decided I am ready to finish it up. Today's first project is to vacuum and wash the floors in there, clean off the window sills, get the curtain rods hung up, the furniture rearranged with DH's help, the clothes and diapers washed and put away... I am full of energy at the moment so I am READY TO RUMBLE! (ugh, did I just make a wrestling reference???)

I am really ready to ransack the house and get stuff done because I am SICK OF IT. It is just... cluttered. I have quite a to-do list posted here but I am not going to look at it because I know what is on it and it is too depressing... so I am going to whittle away at it during this nesting phase and highlight it as I finish.

Please, tell me someone else is nesting!

Oh yeah... been nesting for quite some time... I think last month was when I washed all the clothes and diapers... and since then I've been busy with little projects, like the name canvasses that ds(4) and I made together... We installed our mini-shower for the diapers at 10pm last night..because, you know, it HAD to be done at that exact moment Now that we're at 30 weeks, I feel this panic to get everything done NOW so that I can spend the last few weeks just focusing on ds(4) before the baby is here...

Just this weekend I cleaned out the pantry cabinet and put everything back in nice and neatly...and last night I made dh pull out all the tupperware stuff and re-arrange it neatly He was...uh... less than thrilled with the task, but I told him I couldn't possibly get down on my hands and knees to do it! :

I also wanted to repaint a few walls downstairs in the dining room... but I think I'll wait to spring that one on dh!! (or at least not propose the idea after 9pm at night!)

I am in full nesting mode. I have just a few small things left to do, like washing the newborn diapers, moving the glider into the baby's room, and setting up the bassinet or side-carring the crib (haven't decided yet). This week I've been focusing on my labor notebook where I have inspirational messages (from the birth bead exchange--yay!) and reminders about helpful things to do (like pain-coping techniques, positions, and images of open flowers).

I'm glad you mentioned spending time with your DS, Lauren. I didn't think of that. I don't think I've prepared myself for the changes that are to come in my relationship with my DD. Oh, boo hoo! :

Yay! You guys are getting so much done! I rearranged our tupperware yesterday because DH thinks it will stack itself if he throws it in the cabinet! I have to weed through our teas today- we have a cabinet with probably 2 dozen boxes of tea- some are 2 years old- that I should go through. We drink tea maybe once a month. ugh. Does tea get stale? I suppose it would be less potent over time...

i am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ready -- now want to expalin that ot my 22 month old ???????????

i am getting stuff done

i am sooooooooooooooooo ready

Mom comes this weekend too -- boy oh boy now things will happen

What is driving e BATTY is the stuff i need somene else to do -- and DH saying "we have lots of time" "I'll get to it" "relax" "don't worry" aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhh

Lucky mom can do most of the stuff i need done (I COULD but i can't with Theo -- like use the drill to hang photos and shelves ..a nd i can't when he is asleep or i wake him) .......... so i won't be stuck waiting on Scott like i have for the past 30 weeks................

I'm still feeling too lazy to get into all the cleaning/setting up type nesting, but the past week or so, I've been knitting like a crazy woman. Ever since I got the BFP, I've had all these projects in mind, but couldn't get motivated to start, and now I can't get myself to stop.

Thankfully, I don't have much to do in the "big tasks" realm. We're not doing a nursery or anything. Just need to get the crib set up in our room, the bassinette set up downstairs, and get the clothes washed. I want to wash the clothes, they're sitting there all sorted and staring at me, but I haven't figured out where to put them yet!

been nesting here for a while...but, I've come to the conclusion I need to hire a housekeeper to do normal stuff while I empty closets and sun diapers. :

Yup, finished washing bedding and such this weekend, finished getting the crib set up in our room and ready to side car, organized our bedroom, etc.

I still have a lot to do in DSs room, but have to wait for DH to take down his old crib that we never used. It's blocking the closet and most of what I need to do (organize and wash old baby clothes, put away things, toss a bunch of stuff).

Besides that, we are in the middle of painting our bathroom (just re painting the white because it's dingy) and I want to touch up the trim in DDs room because DH did a sloppy job in there

That is me! I want to wash the diapers and clothes but I have nowhere to put them. Grr. Need to buy this baby a dresser (and figure out where to put it) and get our changing table back from a friend.

I have cleaned out and reorganized our laundry/storage room... we had to buy a new dryer so naturally that was a good time to put together the laundry cabinets that have been sitting in boxes for a year, to vacuum out the whole room, to lay down an old rug on the floor to make it more cozy, to reorganize the boxes and tubs that line the walls, and to go through 15+ tubs of stuff. Right?

I've also been painting... seems like I have been doing that for the whole pregnancy. DH doesn't paint so it is allllll me. Did the entry/hall/stairway back in May, the living room in July, just finished the dining room. Now I have all the trim for those rooms left. I hate trim and windows and doors (grumble). And then our room, but we can't agree on a color. Oh well, since DH doesn't help me paint, he is not going to get much say in the matter!

I am having this problem too! Last week and this week I had been doing some de-cluttering for a yard sale and everything else falls to the wayside. I only have just so much energy, so if I tackle other things, something else doesn't get done.

My brain is totally in nesting mode, but the body doesn't follow!

AARGH- I brought DH to work, got some diaper covers, and got home and I am tired. I really want a nap but if I take one I will be useless for the rest of the day. must...get...motivated...

i am having a similar problem to some of you...because we're still doing renovations on the house my nesting is going unfulfilled even though my brain is in crazy nesty mode. andy has to finish the sunroom (which will be the new living room) so we can move the living room furniture in there, so then we can replace the the floors in the old living room (and the study) so that we can make it our bedroom, and make our old bedroom the new "baby stuff"/guest room (not nursery since we're cosleeping)...:

basically the whole house has to be rearranged before i can really organize or settle anything. and that probably won't be done til mid-october! plus, i don't have the dresser or little diaper-organizer thing we registered for because we haven't had our shower yet (though i'm 99% sure either my mom or andy's mom is getting that for us). i am DYING to wash and put away all my dipes! sigh.

but i keep myself occupied with weird tasks. i randomly decided to remove the old caulk in the bathroom and replace it. the bathroom is, like, the one room we're not doing much with so now it's my little project -- now that i've caulked, i've got to remove and replace one tile, then i'm going to paint, buy a new shower curtain etc.

today i think i'm going to help my husband paint molding.

i really should be getting my dissertation prospectus done before baby comes but that's not as hormonally driven and therefore is not as important, somehow.

Yeah, totally. I've been working on several things these last few weeks - trying to get the lawn in order, clearing brush in the backyard, sweeping the porches, finally taking out a bunch of stuff I was saving for Goodwill, making up the guest bedroom (I even bought a new quilt ), buying curtains for the front room, and I just bought a chest of drawers for the baby and a bunch of baby needs, like a co-sleeper, stroller, and car seat. Yeah, I'd say I'm nesting.

But I'll do a bunch of stuff one day, and the next day I'll be wiped out and sleep for 11 hours.

when we were pregant with Theo we were building our house around us - talk about fustrating.

We had no furniture save our bed (on the floor, not bed rails) and a folding table untill the night i went into labor --

talk about fustrated nesting!!!!!!!

I'm totally starting to get panicked. My main problem is that I can only get so much done before my hips and back decide to quit working and i'm in agony all night. Last night I did the living room and gack i walk out and DS has already spread toys out everywhere. I can't keep up with it. This weekend DH off and there is no excuse, we are cleaning from top to bottom Fri-Sun.

TOO FUNNY! I just started doing this the other day!! I'm still digging the old stuff out (from like 1970...bathroom wasnt really used much til we got here!) but, Im now having issues bc the tiles are slipping of the wall. Maybe I should just replace them all.

(I have one pair of underwear left, laundry everywhere, but I'm spending my time doing this!!)

Yup, sounds like nesting to me!

I started nesting a couple months ago and thought maybe I had gone insane... but with my husband out of commission for the next month, I'm glad that I got as much done as I did.

I keep hoping that some of the nesting energy will bounce over to the work place... I am woefully behind where I need to be before I can go on leave. Eek.

that's hilarious, k!

i did a pretty good job, if i do say so myself. i'm not much of a ms. fix-it but whaddya know, even my husband was impressed. of course, it was a methodical, painstaking, details-oriented kind of job...i should've known i would've excelled at it.

of course the whole time we were thinking it didn't make much sense that i decided to wait til i was seven months pregnant to do a job that required me to be hunched over in a tiny space for hours, but whatever.
