I guess I have some work to do! I thought the boys all understood BF'ing and my youngest never asked any questions when he saw my friend breastfeed.
My Jack (6 year old) was describing how hubby and I should sleep in the boys' rooms and the boys could sleep in our bed together with the baby, so I asked him if he would do the breastfeeding at night too. Here's our conversation:
J: The WHAT?
G: The breastfeeding.
J: What's that?
G: It's this cool trick we pregnant mamas have to feed the baby milk from our breast.
J: Really?! COOL! Can I see your cool trick over the toilet?
G: Over the... Oh! No, milk hasn't come in yet, I need more time. You will see lots of milk when the baby's born though.
J: COOL! (running to his brother's room) There's this cool trick mom's gonna do with her BREASTS....
Later Jack comes back, mercilessly pinching one side of his chest with an owie look on his face.
G: What are you doing?
J: I am pretending to do your trick!
G: Oh, no, you don't pinch it. The baby latches on to mom's nipple and sucks milk out.
J: COOL!
G: Don't you remember L feeding M like that?
J: (quizzical, you're a crazy mama look) Nooooo...
G: She pulled her shirt up or down and put the baby like this against her breast for a while...
J: OH YAH!!!
G: You're funny, Whack...
J: COOL!! (running off again)
