So...I don't plan to re-pierce my belly buton - but the scar from it is huge and ugly now...even though the rest of my PP body is close to normal. Does anyone know if it will fade or get smaller? I only have 4lbs of pre-preg wieght to lose, but I'm trying to lose about 25 more...

Also- just curious about the tatoos...and what happens after you get all stretched out. I don't have any...yet....

I had a belly button ring in highschool. It got infected so I took it out. There was a little scar there, little, but when I got pg it grew and stretched out. Baby #2 it just kept stretching, #3 even worse. I have a huge stretch mark going straight up from the scar, now I am pg with #4 and it just keeps growing. I have to admit, my belly button is absolutely hideous when I am not pg. Wish I never would have gotten that thing!!!
As for the tattoos, I have one on my lower abdomen, it has stretch marks in various parts of it. Honestly I don't remember how it looked before I had the babes, but I am pretty sure it looked a little better than it does now!!

I had my navel pierced in '02. DS was born Aug '06. I left my ring in the whole time. I switched it to a piece of Tygon at 6 months. They made me take it out for my emergency c/s : , but I got it back in about a week later.

I had a vertical stretch mark go right through the piercing. At first it looked like a big X, then more of just a single mark. It's slowly faded some. Now it's almost not noticable, and I have 15 pre-preg pounds to lose.

Hope that helps!

A high school friend of mine who was the first of our crowd to get pregnant (in college), warned the rest of us off getting any tattoos in certain places. "I had a tattoo on my hipbone," she said. "And now my yin is twice as big as my yang."

The scar from my piercing is still big and my abdominal tattoo looks like something they would show you in ink blot therapy.

I got a tattoo around my belly button when I was 18. It was fairly amusing to see how big it stretched during the final months of pregnancy. Now (3 months pp) it doesn't look too much different, just a little bigger than it was before I was pregnant. I guess that comes from it being in the center of my belly-the whole thing stretched pretty uniformly.

My belly button piercing looks fine when it is in, but it doesn't look so awesome when out. I am pretty sure that would have been true regardless of pg. The piercing I had was a little weird though - done with a gun (big mistake) - so it has always been a little longer than a typical navel piercing. Maybe that's why it didn't stretch so much when I was pg?

I have a belly button piercing and two tatts on my belly. One is around my belly button, the other is sort of on my side and comes up and forward to under my ribs. Maybe I'm just lucky with pregnancies (no stretch marks, belly bounces back to pretty flat again after a couple months), but once I get back to my pre-preggo weight everything is the same again. Piercing in same spot, tatts not noticeably worse for wear other than needing color retouches, but thats cause they are 12 years old. But the tatts do get pretty funny looking in late pregnancy!

I had my belly button pierced when I was 18. I took it out about 6 years ago and still have the scar. Now, 9 months pregnant, I have a huge stretch mark going right through it into my belly button. Its the only stretch mark on my tummy and it looks crazy. I'm very curious as to how it'll look after the baby is born!
