OMG i love cottage cheese!

it is seriously my third trimester nectar of the gods. i don't know what that's about! but, hey, i'm not complaining -- how they pack all that protein into such a small punch i'll never know, but since i am trying to make sure i get 90+g of protein a day, i'll take it!

except...such drama! we only buy organic dairy and eggs, have been doing so for years now for a variety of reasons. it would be weird to stop now, especially considering i'd be very uncomfortable consuming non-organic dairy while pregnant of all times. but i can't justify buying multiple $4 cartons a week, which means i have to ration my cottage cheese and can't eat it every day! such a sad pregnant lady i am.

i don't know if i should put aside my ethics or go broke getting my fix.

any recent food obsessions for you ladies??

I woke up yesterday craving- I can't believe I am telling you all this- velveeta and an orange juilius. I don't think there is an orange juilius in this state so I am going to look online to see if I can find a recipe for a mock one.

The velveeta... well, I just don't know about that one!

I had a cup today as well and have no idea how on earth I am supposed to get 90+ grams of protein a day...... I just am not into meet and can only eat so much in a given day. Not to mention I have no time! Even with two protein shakes a day and I am not hitting 90! It does not help that I can not have Carbs/Sugars!

Cannolis.

I NEED Cannolis.

DH was supposed to get some yesterday on the way back from a client call, but he stayed home sick. He rescheduled for tomorrow and sick or not he better bring me that cheesy goodness!

I've been craving cottage cheese lately myself!

Here is the recipe we use at my house for Orange Julius:

INGREDIENTS:

Ice
Orange Juice
Water
Simple Syrup (we use vanilla syrup that you add to coffee drinks)
1 Tbs Instant Vanilla Pudding

DIRECTIONS:

1. Take a blender. Fill 3/4 full with ice.

2. Add orange juice to about 1/3 way up the ice.

3. Add water to top of the ice.

4. Add about 1-2 tablespoons simple syrup (vanilla
syrup can be substituted).

5. Add 1 teaspoon of instant vanilla pudding (that
is the "secret powder").

6. Blend until smooth.
