I have a friend that lives in the Tampa area and is being over run by bugs. She needs help with controling them in a safe way. We are dealing with little ants, gnats, and palmetto bugs(aka roaches). Help please...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Lowe's sells strips of sticky paper that will catch things that run on the floor and that hanging fly paper will work with knats. you can get the kind without pesticides on it. it is just sticky.

I'm in FL too -- it is just that time of year.
Try www.orangeguard.com and in the meanwhile, soapy water in a spray bottle kills them. Make it Dr Bronner' s Peppermint soap (2 tbs: 32 oz water) and it repels as well if you let it dry wherever you sprayed it.
If you find places they like to hand out, consider dumping out a container of cinnamon and/or red pepper there. I've done done this around the front door planters where the ants to root around.
GL!

We had a problem with palmetto bugs, or big a** flying cockroaches. We just had an exterminator come a couple of weeks ago. I got a referral to them from a eco friendly pest website. When I spoke to the lady, she seemed very environmentally conscious and knew I didn't want anything suspect. She put a gel inside cabinets on the inside of the house and a boric acid bait on the outside. Here is the gel (advion roach bait gel):

and here is the Niban fg boric acid bait:

I feel that this was the safest means to really get rid of them.
HTH!

I do believe it's working
, it was actually last tuesday when she came. Since then, we've seen some in the daytime (usually only see late at night). And the ones we see are messed up, can't crawl well or just don't move. I *kinda* feel bad for them....kinda.
