Definitely speak up, mama. You are fortunate to be in such a position to maybe get these kids question societal norms and beliefs. Sometimes just a word will make such a difference! I completely agree with putting together a brief little presentation (if you're up to it), or at least a one-page quick reference stating some statistics, evidence, and resources. I'd include some "easy reading" books liike Babycatcher too. You could present it as a "follow up" to some comments that were made, based on assumptions...I look forward to hearing what you decide to do and how it goes

I would say something... and bring the stats showing how safe it is! I remember hearing about homebirth long before I was a mother and thinking it was dangerous. I thought anyone who didn't give birth in a hospital was insane. You just don't know what minds you will change, even if they only say negative things about it now.
