Whoo hoo! My water broke!

So after giving out my actual due date to the family that has been hounding for it for months (Monday, for the record), and swearing up and down that I "knew" I would go over by at least 2 weeks, my water broke at about 3:30 this morning.

He he on me!

My midwife was not due in town until Saturday morning but she answered the phone on the first ring and was booked on a flight half an hour later to be here by 10am so all is well.

So far just some trickling (can I just say ewwwwww ), little bloody show and some light contractions.

I'm trying to rest up and keep things slow until the house is awake.

Anybody else having the new moon work wonders for them?

You'll do great!

Oh and I love it when my water breaks, I told dh last night, it's like popping an overfilled water balloon and releaving the pressure, it ROCKS

OK. Contractions can get going any time now.

Lots of water leaking. Lots of sporadic contractions. I thought for sure this would be happening today: .

Hay doulamom7, maybe I was right in my instincts that I was not uncomfortable enough to give birth and it will be October (oh, please, no) . If that is to be the case my waters can stop leaking anytime now.

DD was a slow to get rolling labor to so maybe this is just my thing. Lots of tease before the big show. And I was doing so well. I can feel the anxious energy building now.

I hope I can report progress in the morning. Plaid Leopard and takebirthback, you may not want my kind of labor vibes. It's just so maddening (but good practice for being a mom).

I'm still waiting for labor to establish : : .

This afternoon things seemed to be happening, very slowly. I went to a movie, came home went to bed. I couldn't sleep because of those pesky menstrual like cramps. Now... nothing!!!!

My water has been broken for 3 days.

Anybody else in this situation? It's just so frustrating.

mama..

sending you some of MY KIND of labor vibes for a quick and wonderful labor.....

things went a bit too fast for my liking....i would've preferred a nice compromise btwn dd#1 and 2 for labor!!!!

things will happen soon.......babe can't stay in there forever (even though my 3.5yo told me she was warm and comfy in there and tonight was the first cold night we've had and she said she wanted to go back in.....UM, NO??? but you can cuddle....)

hope things get movin for ya soon!!!!!

Thank you for all of the support.

It's day 5 and NOTHING!

I've listened very hard to my inner voice and have decided to just relax and let things happen (in other words no more herbs and stuff to try to get things moving).

My grandmother called yesterday to tell me that with my mom her water broke and she did not go into labor for many days too. She knew it was not a week of waiting but it was more than 4 days. That really made me relax and feel good about what is happening.
