? If you knit a soaker, Question

Hi
I am making the LTK Hybrid Rib soaker for as a gift. The pattern says to knit (adding in short rows) until the diaper measures 6.5 inches from cast on edge. My ?? is, do i measure the section with the short rows added or the section without the short rows added?

If I measure the section with the short rows, I'm ready for the next step.. if not.. I have about another 1 1/4 inches to knit.

A big difference i think.. help!

Usually it's on the side without the short-rows.

I did it without the short rows. I wonder how big of a difference it will make, fit wise.

Ok thanks.. I'll do that too

LOL - I've always wondered that too. I have always decided to err on the side of caution and measure the front (no short rows) side. It's my favorite soaker pattern

I was told that with LTK soakers you measure the NON short row side for length
